Question about Moen 3867 Four Function Hand Shower With Slide Bar

Open Question

I have a 4 function Moen hand held shower head. We've had the shower head approximately 4 years. There is water leaking out the back of the adjustable ring in the shower head reducing pressure to the head. Can this be repaired?

I don't ever remember seeing a parts breakdown for any Moen hand held shower head. They are like light bulbs and when they go out they are done. Try calling 1-800-BUY-MOEN (1-800-289-6636) for the definitive answer.

  5. Clean scraped parts in hot CLR solution or any vinegar will work as well. Reassemble with lubricant so it works like new. Most likely need for disassembly is clogging or a broken "o"-ring.6fff7106-1b7b-4330-a3c6-089ea42233cf.jpg

Almost zero water pressure or hot water from our hand-held Moen shower head model # 3827 CP. Our regular head next to it works fine. Suggestions as to what the problem or solution might be?

Remove the head from the hose and test. If water flow is adequate through the hose, the problem is in the head. Look inside the head where the hose connects for a restriction, perhaps twisted rubber. If the issue might be with clogged jets, try soaking in CLR to remove built up deposits.
Hope this helps, --W/D--

I have extremely low pressure from my Moen Posi-Temp 1222 shower valve, but otherwise it functions well. Should I replace the posi-temp cartrige?

Hi Ken--
Positemp cartdiges should deliver years of maintenance free operation. Usually, clogs develope downstream from the cartridge. If the cartridge still works well, that is, if it still pulls and turns freely, and the rest of the house has decent water pressure, check your shower head. Remove the head and test the water pressure. If the water flows better without it, you may have a clogged shower head. Over time, rust and scale can build up inside the shower head and block what would otherwise be decent water pressure. If a visual inspection does not yield any visible blockage, you can consider cleaning the head by soaking it in a calcium removing solution such as CLR. This often helps, but my preference is to replace the shower head completely.
--Hope this helps.

Water Pik Elements Hand Held leaking at flow adjustment

Shower heads, by and large, are not built to be serviced. There are generally no parts available for even the most expensive head. Consider it a light bulb...when it dies it's dead and there is no rebuild

Just installed a Moen 3867 hand held shower. There is no water coming out of the head. Water flows just fine from the hose without the head attached. Is there a restrictor plate or something I can...

Usually whenever you do any repairs on plumbing, you dislodge calcium from the inner surfaces of teh plumbing. Check to see if ther is a mesh filter in the inlet side of the head. and remove and clean it. otherwise you could remove it and use a vacuum yo try and remove any deposit that may be in it. If that is unsuccessful,
you can always return it, but always remember to open the fawcett and run it before installing the head.
This is an essential part of any plumbing job. Good luck

. If your local store refuse to replace it Moen will gladly do so with no problem.

They are good like that.
