I have bought a tall larder fridge recently. It is making a what I think is a strange noise for a fridge. Instead of a humming sound which I expected it is making a rumbling sound - sounds like there is air in the pump. any suggestions on what I can do to fix this? thanks

Why would a brand new fridge make strange noises already?

Good Afternoon Friend,

I understand that your Frigidaire refrigerator, model# FFSS2614QS, is making a strange humming noise. Your new, high-efficiency refrigerator may introduce unfamiliar sounds. These sounds normally indicate your refrigerator is operating correctly. Some surfaces on floors, walls, and kitchen cabinets may make these sounds more noticeable. This could possibly be the compressor that you are hearing. Modern, high-efficiency compressors run much faster than in the past. The compressor may have a high-pitched hum or pulsating sound. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

Refrigerator intermittent humming sound

If it's not causing any problems to the overall operation of the unit itself, I wouldn't worry about it.

I bought aBeko tall freezer model TZDA 504Fand a Larder fridge modelLA87 on the 11-10-10 at COMET in Leeds. Are they safe as i saw on tv that some of them have got on fire.thank you.

you should not have a problem but anything is possible but first thing is to make sure that your power box is fitted with a new modern safety switch and if you do not have the new upgrade of an electrical box then connect your power supply to your fridge with a new modern power board that you can pick up from a local supermarket or electrical outlet and make sure it has a good safety switch and the first thing of any fire or fault it will throw the safety switch before a spark or any upsets happen or get it checked out from a refrigeration mechanic

Water collecting in the container.

It does sound like it might be the recent excess of humidity we've been having. Once dryer weather comes, see if it's still happening. It does take a while for cold water to evaporate from just the heat of the fan blowing over the compressor.
Only other thing i can think of is, it's defrosting more often than it should be, meaning you may have a bad defrost timer. It should only be defrosting once a day. But I'd give it time before ripping it apart.
