Did you try calibrating the touch screen? i would first do a hard reset then go to Start> Settings> System tab> Screen> General tab> Align Screen. try using a stylus instead of fingers too! worked for mine

Does it respond to any touches or is it greyed out? This problem can be caused by either a bad touch pad or a defective scanner. Try accessing other options on the front such as the administrative menu. If those work, then the scanner might be bad or locked? Lift the automatic document feeder lid and check the lock on the left hand side to make sure the scanner is not locked. Restart the machine as well, could be an intermittent problem or static discharge.
Have you tried to recalibrate the touch screen in the Set Menu? If so, and it still doesn't respond, then the touch screen might have gone bad. This is something you should have a dealer repair. About a $200.00 repair.
