SURFboard SB4220 Modem is not a wireless modem/router, therefore, it doesn't have a password for wireless connection.

If you're using a wireless router, then that is where the password for the wireless connection is configured. You will need to open the router's setup page to verify the wireless security.

The router is the one connected to the modem. Usually, it has antennas.

To help you further, what is the brand and model number of your router, if you have any.

How do I change the "Pass code" on my wireless Motorola surfboard modem ???

If you mean the wireless pass code or Passphrase you need to log onto your modems web page which normally sits at IP address: 192.168.100.1. In the wireless section there is the pass code update field.

Connect to it directly using a LAN cat 5 cable, not wireless.
Log in as admin to the router, and change the wireless password to something new.
Disconnect the cable then try connecting from each laptop by wireless, when it prompts for password enter the new password.

Forgot password

Check to see if someone wrote down the password and taped it to your router, hopefully!
If not you will need to log into the administration page of the router with a hardwired computer not wireless open a browser and type 192.168.0.1 into the address and press enter, the logon page will open, the default username and password are blank just press enter.

Once you are in navigate to the wireless tab and then wireless security. You should see the wireless password and can write it down and use it to connect your device.

If you cannot log in then someone has changed the default password and you will have to do a hard reset, hold the rest button for 10 seconds, this will wipe the memory and set it back to factory specifications and you will have to setup all your wireless computers printers, faxes to the new wireless name and password that you create

My daughter has a hughes modem connected to the reachnet network in in the northern territory Australia. It keeps asking for a password as she is not able to get onto the internet I am trying to help...

If you are trying to connect the computer using a wireless connection then -
Then the password proably the wireless router's encryption key (WEP or WPA or WPA2 code). This is part of the wireless configuration.

To connect to your wireless router, it needs the router's wireless settings configured and also needs the wireless cards in all the laptops and or computers to be configured with the router's wireless settings. Then the laptops and desktop computers can communicate with your wireless router.

To secure your wireless network from unauthorized access, please click on this link and follow my instructions :-http://www.fixya.com/support/r3559128-wireless_router_security

Connect your router to computer with ethernet cable then you can access it with following default link. http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.15.1 or http://192.168.2.1 If you are not able to access it with above ip then check your computers ip address gateway ip is your router ip try with it. Then it ask for user name and password. Type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or "password" or blank. Then you can see configuration page of router. Then click on wireless->wireless security ->WEP security note down the password it is your password to connect wireless. . Let me know if you need further assistance. Thanks for using FixYa.

My new mac mini wants a password to connect to my wireless network (Motorola SBG900)

Hi,

The SSID (network name) and password should be on the wireless router itself, usually underneath the unit.

If its not there, the password will be with documentation you got with the wireless router.

Regards.

I want to put a password on the wireless connection

Access your router login page by entering 192.168.1.1 on the URL address bar, go to security and find PSPK code, that is a pre shared pass key, enter the password there and restart, now your wireless connection requires the password. Hope this will solve the problem

How do i set a password to protect my wireless internet

Access the Router's page and go to Wireless configuration. You may assigned a WEP key that uses hexadecimal value (A-F, 0-9). So if someone attempts to access your Wireless network, they will prompt to enter a Wep key.
