Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

Here are my complete, general pre-typed guidance notes for checking filters and motors ;-0)
-------------------------------------
If you are unsure where the filter is, it is often behind the front lower (kick) panel (or in some machines at the rear in an awkward position!) and held in by a round cover/knob.

REMOVE POWER AND ENSURE YOU HAVE A WATER RECEPTACLE/RAGS TO SOAK UP THE WATER WHICH IS BOUND TO POUR OUT!

It's surprising what people have found in theirs! It is always worthwhile checking it on a regular basis.
Now- whilst the filter is removed it is normally possible to see the drain motor and ensure it is not jammed by a foreign object such as a needle or a toothpick. It should be able to be turned by hand/finger- the power IS OFF!
At this point it is also possible to test if the motor works. No clothes or water in the machine, select a spin cycle and put the power back on. You should be able to see the motor turning at some point, possibly straight away. If it doesn't work then the motor is malfunctioning!

Hope the filter is the problem and good luck!

AWO 3551 have a FP fault . help

thanks for your advice. I have an AWO 3551 Whirlpool front-loading washing machine. It works but I think it's highly likely that the filter needs a clean and is long overdue. I've opened the front plate and unscrewed the plastic cover but the filter doesn't come out at the same time. It seems pretty stuck and there is nothing to get a purchase on (unless I get pliers and turn counter clockwise - but slightly concerned that might break it...?) Any suggestions of how to make it 'come out to play'?!

I need the user manual for a Whirlpool AWO/D4605. Can I download it for free from somewhere?

Hi Carol from retired Englishman in SW France,

You will need to type into your search engine/web browser '(make model number) washer manual' and you should be presented with a number of sources from which you can either download for free or have to pay a nominal amount.
You could also try the manufacturer's web site direct ;-0)

If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!

Whirlpool AWO/D 4605 Clean Pump light on, how do I

Remove bottom plastic panel across the front of machine- it just clips off (use a small screwdriver or bread knife to prise off). You will now see a round filter behind this panel- unscrew anticlockwise to remove- this is the filter. Sometimes filter can be hard to remove if you have things jammed in it- give it bit of a jiggle and it should come out without forcing it. Remember- if there is still water in the machine, this water will come out on the floor once you remove the filter- put down some towels!! Happy fixing!!

The clean water pump is flashing on my whirlpool awo/d4505 washing machine where is the pump and how do i clean it ?

There should be a access panel on the front of the machine at floor level.

This will have a filter which you need to clean. This filter is on the input to the pump.

How to clean the pump on a Whirlpool AWO/D4605 washing machine

Hi, you can sometimes see the important bit of the pump - called the impellor - when you remove the filter from the bottom of the machine, It is usually behind the panel below the door.

If you peer in there with a torch, that missing sock might just be within reach with a pair of pliers or some kind of hooky thing.

But take care, if the pump is jammed the machine might have wuite a lot of water in it, which will want to come out when you remove the filter. (Unless you pull the machine out from under the work surface and tilt it backwards against a wall or friend.)

If these suggestions do help you solve the problem, please give my reply a rating to help others judge my knowledge / guessing skills. If they do not, please delay the rating and add a comment
with more details so I can try to help you further. Cheers, D
