Hi,

yes 15 years is about it(wow) for belt driven inkjets, HPs are pretty good ones stick with them, you will be amazed how far theyve come and the ink prices have dropped below regular fuel prices. You may have to download a specific vista driver even though your printer is brand new though, if you have vista. be prepared..

HP Deskjet 3050 missing lines when printing

Since the print head(s) are installed into the cartridges themselves, it makes this easier to troubleshoot. First, are all colors affected or just black? You don't say whether or not the cleaning pages and alignment pages are printing properly so I assume they have the same problem. Next, are you using genuine HP cartridges or are these remanufactured/aftermarket units? Non-genuine cartridges are often remanufactured many times over and eventually fail in use. If they are genuine cartridges, and if the problem appears to be only with either the black or the color cartridge, but not both, try another cartridge. New cartridges can be defective. IF that is the case, contacting HP about it should get you credit for a new one. If the problem is related to both cartridges and new ones don't fix the issue, then the problem is in the printer itself and there isn't much you can do about it other than replacement since printers are so inexpensive that repairs are not cost effective.

My HP 940C only prints in shades of red. I replaced with new HP 15 & 78 Cartridges, still have same problem!

Some HP ink refills have the exact same product number but the electrical contact tips on the back of the cartridge are not the same configuration, resulting in red ink only being printed. One example is the DeskJet color ink cartridge C1823D having multiple configurations.Find a printer just like yours that's working properly and compare the contact tips if possible. HP tech help is a joke on this one. Good luck!

Pictures look fuzzy and not sharp when i print them . Does my printer need cleaned? Or is it time for a new printer. Mine is about 8 years old.

Try to replace a new cartridge for your printer...I think your printer is working properly...

if the phenomenon still exist..

its better to flash it with a new firmware.
maybe the signal that the printer sent to the cartridge is not enough...^_^

Color cartridge in Deskjet Cse is printing pink...Why?

Refilling is all right. I do it all the time! If the cartridge sits for a long time, the ink will dry up on the tiny jets. You may try wiping them with a cloth dampened with water and then running through a purge cycle on the printer. If that doesn't work, then you should go ahead and get it refilled.

Printer Prolems

I would start by replacing the printer cartridges with new ones. If that doesn't work then try replacing the software like this:

1. Unplug usb cable at printer.
2. From control panel > Printers uninstall all printers.
3. Reboot
4. Reinstall Printer software
5. Plug usb cable back into printer.

Hope that helps...
