Question about Intel DP45SG Motherboard

New system. Cannot enter bios with F2 key, apparently keyboard is not working, but works well in another computer. I tried bios switches 1_2 default and 2_3. With 1_2 it goes directly to PXE_E61 error, with 2_3 it goes to bios page, but nothing can be changed with the keyboard. Pressing F2 or F10 after beep has no effect. Couls you help?

Hallo there, tried the DEL key? (instead of the F2, some Bios of them use older input for F2, DEL sends same key. )
Also, please count how many short, how many long beeps mopbo gives when booting.
Also: try to connect with PS2 keyboard. Possible no correct keyboard connection or even worse, when its a wireless keyboard need tyo pair keyboard with receiver first.
Also possible: is the keyboard not IBM compatible?
As said: try first to use default PS2 keyboard, theyre cheap and most of the times problem is directly solved.
If that does not solve your problem, count the beep codes and tell us please, could be some other problem, ( wrong memory, memory not placed correct, voltage problems etc etc etc)
the bios codes would help us to help you fasst.

Greetings
Ganimidis

I think you are using a USB keyboard. Try with a regular PS2 keyboard and enable the USB keyboard from BIOS. Then switch to your USB keyboard.

BIOS on a Fujitsu C-Series LifeBook b> Resetting the BIOS system of a computer can help revitalize the computer's usage. Oftentimes computers are "broken" when they are misconfigured in the BIOS menu of the computer before it boots up. When the settings are improperly selected, the BIOS prevents the computer from working properly. To get the computer back up and running again, the BIOS needs to be reset. The Fujitsu LifeBook C2111 has its BIOS system located on the motherboard beneath the keyboard.

Turn the Fujitsu laptop over with the computer powered off. Remove the AC adapter and push the battery release latch in and pull the laptop battery out of the Fujitsu. Remove the screw holding the hard drive in place and slide the cover off of the laptop. Remove the two screws underneath the cover that holds the hard drive onto its bracket. Slide the hard drive out of the laptop. Turn the computer back over and lay the screen down so that it is parallel to the surface on which the laptop is resting. Remove the small screw above and to the left of the keyboard with the Phillips screwdriver. Push the keyboard toward the screen until it disengages. Fold the keyboard over the screen and rest it there with the keys facing the screen. You will now see the motherboard of the Fujitsu C2111. Locate the small, round lithium-ion battery on the motherboard and remove it. This is the BIOS battery that stores all of the settings and password of the BIOS when the computer loses power. Hold the power button in on the computer to drain the BIOS system and leave the battery out of the laptop for at least 30 minutes. Place the BIOS battery back into the motherboard and reattach the keyboard. Tighten the keyboard screw that you removed earlier, and turn the Fujitsu back over and reattach the hard drive along with the covers for the hard drive and RAM. Push the computer battery back into place and attach the power cable to the computer. Turn the Fujitsu back on and the BIOS menu will be reset.
or b> Start the computer and press the "F2" key while the system boots, if the computer is currently off. If already on, restart the computer and press the "F2" key while the system boots. The BIOS setup utility will appear. Press the right arrow on the keyboard and scroll over to the "Exit" tab. Press "Enter." A drop-down menu will appear. Scroll down to "Default Settings" using the down arrow key and press "Enter." A dialog box will appear, asking if you are sure you want to load the default settings. Scroll over and select "OK" using the arrow keys and press "Enter." All BIOS settings will reset to the default value. Scroll back to the "Exit" tab using the arrow keys and press "Enter." Scroll down and select "Save Changes and Power Off." Press "Enter." The computer will save the default BIOS settings and power down. Fujitsu Lifebook T Series b> Restart your Fujitsu Lifebook T Series computer. Press "F2" as soon as the computer starts booting. Enter your current BIOS password if prompted. Use your right arrow key to select the "Security" menu. Use your down arrow key to select the password you want to reset. Press "Enter" to select the password. Enter the current password when prompted. Enter your new password or a blank password if you want to clear the password. A blank password resets the BIOS password completely, meaning you do not have to enter a password to enter the BIOS or boot your computer. Press "Enter" to save your password settings.
Repeat the process if you have multiple passwords set. Press "F10" to save all settings and exit the BIOS.

During the boot process you will see on the screen to press a certain key to enter setup usually the Delete or F2 key
this will vary depending on your computer and operating system

Press and hold that key during the boot up process to enter BIOS using the arrow keys load failsafe defaults or load optimized defaults press escape then press f10 to save to cmos to restart

this will set the boot order

Can't enter BIOS

Hi there.
  • Boot the system. Press F2 to enter the BIOS setup.
  • Press ALT-F
  • Press ALT-B
  • Computer will restart and display a message indicating it is re-detecting IDE drives. After a minute or so, Windows will start. Test the device that wasn't working before.
  • If you want to restore other BIOS settings you have set, such as the boot sequence, you will have to restart the computer and enter BIOS setup again.
If this does not work try another usb keyboard in the same port.

Good luck and thanks for using FixYa!!

Can't enter BIOS setup with F2

Try using another application that has a use for the F2 key. I'm not totally convinced that your keyboard is good. It is possible for just one key to fail. Happens quite often.
