Well, opening the computer and removing the clock battery till the capacitor dies out should work, but for a laptop, its difficult to do so if you dont have any experience disassembling it.

You should be able to disassemble the back of the laptop make sure there isn't a battery or any power going to it of course locate the cos battery and remove it for about 20 seconds and reinsert it. Thus should clear the bios and it's password. If this doesn't work please let me know.

Bios password

I always use a bios password. Can you access your bios (also called CMOS) I am sure there is a bios reset (usually a jumper you install over two metal prongs on the motherboard) or other method to reset your bios to factory.

BIOS password for toshiba satellite pro

Please be more descriptive with your problems...
To remove a BIOS password you will need to unplug your laptop and take out the laptop battery. Then you will need to locate your CMOS battery and remove it for 15 seconds and place it back in. It will look highly similar to a watch battery.

I forget my bios password for Toshiba L675D..is any master password to reset the bios password....?

there is a way but its risky i would suggest you get this to a technician.. You need to remove the battery from the main board (some soldering required) and boot it without the MAINBOARD battery. (not the battery that you charge but the one that keeps the internal settings).. after booted, shut it down and re-insert the battery.

its possible to get to it from under the laptop, remove the wireless card you can see the battery to the left of it. Its like a huge watch battery , some models have it covered in a plastic skin.

Location of the jumper to reset the bios on toshiba l500d

I'am sorry to say it cannot be reset, you need to know the bios password or pay to have it resolved. If you are the original owner Toshiba will reset it for a fee, $100.00 or go to www.ebay.com Type: bios password I suggest you choose a seller that deals in Toshiba laptops for a better chance of success.

How do I lock my Toshiba Satellite L500 laptop

You can put a Power On Password of your Toshiba, this will prevent unauthorized access to youe laptop. If you forget this password then you will have problems unlocking your Toshiba.
The Power on Password is configured in the BIOS under sercuity settings.
You can also put a password on the hard drive and if your Toshiba is stolen and they remove the hard drive out of your Toshiba into another laptop they cannot get access to the data on your hard drive.
NOTE if you forget the hard disk password you will not be able to access your hard disk.

How do i repair the cmos for satellite l500? Bios update failed

To reset the BIOS read the information from this link. Although article is about removing BIOS password the second, third and fourth methods pretty much will bring the BIOS to initial factory settings.

I would suggest getting Hiren's Boot CD and use Kill CMOS to wipe the BIOS to the factory settings.
