It maybe a ram problem, or a video display problem.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

How do i clear the password on my IBM T40

Hi, Unfortunatly if you are talking about the: - BIOS Password - HDD Password - BOOT Password
There is no way to remove them, they are not stored into the ROM but into the systemboard. IBM Will offer you to replace the systemboard for this issue as it is the only one way to solve it ( From IBM ) Otherwise you may find proffesional who can implant a chip on the systemboard to shortcut the password. Anyway this will cost you money for sure. Thanks and have a nice day J -

I have an IBM think pad T40 that does absolutely nothing when I try to turn it on. It's actually my daughters, she sid it was working just fine then she shut it down and when she came back an hour later it...

Try taking the batter out and booting using just the power cord and Vice Versus'. Also when the power is plugged in does the charging light (Battery Indicator) blink or light up? If you know the Power Supply is good, then the Mother Board may have fried. If it's under warranty, take the Hard Drive out and send it in.

T40 intermittently crashes and recovers "from a serious problem"

If you have not upgraded of changed your power supply, you probably should. Also, you could be having troubles with your RAM. Have you try to perharps repair or re-intall window?

My IBM Thinkpad T40 2723 will not boot up

The first thing to try is to unplug the power adapter from the computer then remove the battery. Then press down the power on button for a second or two. Put the battery back in and reconnect the power adapter and see if it boots.

T40 Monitor Display

I assume you are running window XP or vista?
Go to
Start>Control Panel and look for Power Saver, or Screensaver options. There will be settings there for determining how long, if at all, your display will take to turn off.
