There is no bios update for this model. there should be no problem installing 64bit windows 7. The athlon 5200 is a 64bit chip so there is no problem there. If you cant install and you think its bios related then reset the bios by either shorting the rtc pins or remove the battery and refit after 10 mins. make sure you reset the bios back to defaults before you make any changes to it.
Make sure your FSB(FrontSide Bus, aka 'CPU External clock is set to 166MHz both in BIOS and via jumper on your motherboard - refer to your manual for details. i should be jumpered accordingly.
The ASUS A8M2N-LA is the motherboard used by HP for the new D4500e AMD AM2 PC.

I would suggest you call HP support and ask if it will support 800 MHz,
It sounds to me like the processor that you bought is not fully supported in the current bios in your mobo. I would check the epox website for newer bios. Be careful flashing the bios, if you misstep in the flash, you may end up with a brick. If you are successful, you should be able to run the processor at the speeds you expected, though within the limits of the hardware on the mobo. Also look at the spec's for the mobo on the site to see if your processor is listed as being supported.
If the web site for this motherboard does not have a bios update to run this cpu then there is no bios. It might not support Phenom or higher
this is a link to the download and your bios is the last update http://support.acer-euro.com/drivers/desktop/aspire_m5100.html
So just because some one said "update the bios" doesnt mean there is a bios that will run it , I believe that this board will handle a 6000 x2 and that is about it. Sorry hope this clears things up for you
