Question about Mitsubishi WS-65513 65" Rear Projection HDTV

Open Question

Mitsubishi WS-65513 Blue screen - Disappearing Source?

I have the WS-65513 65" rear projection TV, It turns on fine, and when you select any source, (like input 1 , 2 or 3 etc) it will show the source for about 30 seconds - beautifully - then the picture goes WAVY from top to bottom with horizontal waves, and it "shuts down" the input signal. No video OR audio - It just goes to a blue screen!
The Menus will all still come up, and are crystal clear, but it will not allow you to view your source UNTIL you turn off the TV. When you turn it back on, it again will allow viewing of the source for about 20-30 seconds and once again go "wavy" and to a blue screen...
Its driving me crazy - the picture is beautiful for the first 20 seconds, then a blue screen! Please help!

When watching my tv on satellite after a few minutes I hear a "pop" and the screen goes to blue. If I switch to (or am watching instead of my dish) regular antenna dtv the picture is there but the horizonal & vertical both run at the same time and there is no audio except a steady "whistle" "errrr" kind of sound. Also the menu selection is on the screen as it is whizzing by.

We have already fixed the "dreaded flashing green light several months ago so this seems to be our next big problem. We are wondering if it could be the 9 volt regulator Ref# IC9C25 (we believe) and if that is the case do you have a suggestion as to where we should purchase this and what the ordering part number would be?

If you have any ideas or suggestions we would sure appreciate it!

the IC9C25 is definately the problem. Go to and search for BA09FP, they are about 2 dollars.

SOURCE: TV screen goes blank but power stays on

Sounds like the CRTs are going into protective blanking due to the vertical output ic needing to be resolderd. Try resoldering the vertical IC that may possibly fix the issue.

It has rolling wavy screen with green lines rolling thru constantly - used to be occasionally but now is all the time.

Make sure its not your input source. See if you get the waves through both a DVD player and a Cable box. If you do, your signal board is bad.

I have a Mitsubishi WS-65513 65 in. rear projection HDTV. I recently hooked up a DVD player to the Component 2 cable inputs but I cannot find the Component 2 selection on the 'Device menu' to tell the TV...

If one or more of the inputs is "missing" or not there you may need to do a hard reset of the TV with the original remote.

If you want to try this confirm the actual model number and I will tell you how to do it.
