This does not belong in motherboards, because it is a printer/inkjet problem. Make sure the paper and the tray are perfectly level. Some times certain paper isn't accepted into the printer correctly because of the size, so it causes jams. Try using different paper as a test.

If your paper is jammed inside, open the printer and gently pull the paper back out to fix the problem.

Paper jams after pulled in skew

Mine did this ages ago. I found a staple had accidentally fallen into the printer and jammed on one side causing the paper to go in skewed and then jam up. Get a torch and have a really close look inside where the rollers are for staples, paper clips or bits of paper stuck on the rollers.

Does error P07 on a Canon DR-G1100 indicate that there is a paper jam or that a counter needs to be reset?

P007 indicates that a document has jammed before exiting the registration post sensor. Make sure the path is clear and no staples are stuck in the rollers. I like to use a microfiber cloth, with a small amount of 50/50 alcohol on it, to wipe down the entire feed path; top and bottom. The microfiber cloth will grab staples that may be wedged between the rollers/roller openings. Beyond that, it could be a timing issue from a bad/loose drive belt. Actually, there are quite a few things that could cause a paper jam before exiting the post registration sensor. Wipe it down and let me know.

Several copies tried to go through the printer that were stapled. Now they are really jammed in there.

Hi Stella,

I'm Randy and I'll do my best to help.

This problem has a pretty much straight-forward solution which you probably know but you're hoping for a miracle answer. I'm afraid there is only one fix for this and that is to get the jammed paper, and staples, out without doing damage to the internal components.

There is only one way to do that and that is to dissconnect the power, open all doors and hatches, remove all paper trays and remove the toner cartridge. Then make sure you have a lot of light, or a flashlight, and needle-nose pliers. Get in there with your hands and very carefully remove the jammed staples. If the staples are jammed between the gears, you may need to perform some dissassembly if you're sure you an re-assemble the parts when finished. Use a camera and take photos if you need to remember where the pieces go. Take your time and don't force anything. It is possible that the damage has already been done in which case you'd be better to take it to a repair shop. Let's face it, if you know you'll need repairs, you may as well let the shop remove the pieces so no more damage occurrs.

Depending on the extent of damage, you may need to replace the entire unit. But let's hope for the best. In the meantime, have a long talk with those copies and tell them to never try anything like that again, or else!

I hope this helps.

When powering up printer receive message "press power then clear paper jam" I cannot find any paper jammed in the printer

Power your printer off and unplug it. Try manually feeding a sheet of heavy weight paper (cardstock) through the paper path to help push out any torn scraps of paper left from a previous jam, or any staples or paper clips etc that may have fallen into the paper path. You may need to do this multiple times. You can also try blowing in canned air to remove and paper dust that might be laying on the sensors causing a false jam message. Good luck!

My Dell Photo 964 All In One's output is not centered on the page

Remove the paper supply, and check the paper path for debris, (bits of paper, staples, paper clips) as these can cause jamming and skewing of the copy paper. clean the paper rollers with alcohol, make sure the paper is a good quality, and non of the sheets are folded over in the tray, Fan the paper to break any cuttung bonds. lastly make sure the paper guides are firmly against the paper in the tray.

Hope this is of some help.

Solution: Remove the Paper Jam in the Duplex Automatic Document Feeder (DADF) Top Left Cover bttn_print.gifMake Printable bttn_email.gifE-mail this page elem_1_spacer.gif
  1. Lift up the handle on the Left Cover of the DADF until the cover comes to a stop.

NOTE: An inside cover will also raise with the Left Cover as the two covers are interlocked.

  2. Gently open the covers.
  3. Remove any paper that may be jammed. Check for obstructions in the DADF area including jammed originals, paper fragments, paper clips or staples.

  5. Clean the DADF rollers with a damp cloth.

  6. Close the Left Cover on the DADF until you hear it click into place.
  7. Raise the DADF, remove all the originals, and then lower the DADF.
  8. Make sure your originals are not torn, wrinkled, or folded. Load your originals again following the instructions on the Touch Screen.

NOTE: Originals that have already been scanned will automatically be skipped, and scanning will resume from the previous document sheet.

  9. Torn, wrinkled, or folded originals may cause paper jams and damage. Place the originals directly on the Document Glass to make new originals that can be scanned using the DADF.

Paper jam- now prints with lines

Paper jams are often caused by bits of paper left in the printer. If you can't get to it by opening any access panels, then the printer may need to be disassembled. Check all your access panels first. If that doesn't do anything, visit Staples or an Office Supply Store like that, and purchase a pack of Printer Cleaning Paper. The one I have, the paper is sorta folded like an accordian, and you get some spray to spray the paper. Run that thru the printer according to instructions a couple times. Are you able to remove your printhead? Check that for buildups. Lastly, how long have you had it? Canon printers offer a one year warranty. Good Luck!
