Two issues are possible:
the first that the connection could have detached or the wire would have lost connectivity to the flash tube when over a period of POP UP. If so you will need to open this unit to see that the link is tested and confirmed.
Secondly the failure of the flash inverter is possible as the trigger for flash works, since it pops up but the circuit is inactive. This can be failure of the driver, the transformer or the frequency generator all of it might need a test to confirm.
