I have a technics PR-305 Digital piano, the LCD Screen back light has gone dark Is there anyway of fixing it to make it brighter or would i have to forget about it?

If I am not mistaken, it has a small light built into the area that may have to be changed. Check with Radio Shack for the light, or Amazon.

I have a CQ56 compaq and do not know which type of screen to order a matte or a glossy screen.

The Two Kinds of LCD Monitors lens1946174_1208282041macbook-matte-screen1.jpg There are two kinds of modern LCD screens: matte (anti-glare) and glossy. Both have their pros and cons and are a subject of many discussions.

Matte screens don't get glare or reflections on them; however, the same rough surface (polarizer) that reduces the intensity of reflected light results in less contrast and brightness since the light from the LCD screen passes through it. Matte screens diffuse light instead of reflecting it so they might be easier to read outdoors, if the backlight provides enough brightness. You don't have to worry as much about reflections as with a glossy screen.

Glossy screens have vibrant colors and the highest contrast and brightness because they have a smooth, high-gloss surface. As a result, it is often the choice for movies or gaming. However, strong lighting causes glare on these screens which is very annoying and may tire your eyes if you have to stare at it all the time. You can also see reflections on the screen. Some graphics designers may also find the colors inaccurate. Glossy will work great for you if the lighting in your room doesn't create any glare on the screen.

If you check the data on these types of screens, the bright to dark ratio is dependant on the quality of the polarisation screen and down to cost to produce. Black level at zero will still give background light and the human eye automaticaly compensates.

Dark and blurry

It will clear instantly with a fresh battery.

The viewfinder screen has an LCD overlay and even when the camera is switched off the screen uses a small amount of power. When the batteries are flat the screen is unpowered, the crystals in the LCD align randomly to both darken and blur the viewfinder image.

TO GET THE DIFFRENT BETWEEN LCD VS PLASMA

LCD
LCD stands for liquid crystal display. These types of displays have been around for awhile and are commonly used with computers. One reason for their big popularity is the ability to produces a better picture than CRT monitors but also being much thinner.
Pro’s
  • Low Energy Consumption – LCD monitors use very low amounts of power. This is why it is very commonly used in battery powered devices.
  • LCD screens also reduce the amount of glare on the screen which can be very beneficial if your TV is in a room with lots of light.
  • If an image is left on the screen too long, LCD screens are less likely to experience the image being burned into the screen. If this does occur, it’s easier to repair than other types of TV’s.
Con’s
  • The viewing angle of an LCD TV is typically not as great as Plasma but the difference is not great enough to make a huge difference.
  • LCD TV’s can sometimes get dead pixels which aren’t typically covered under warranty. Although they are very small, they can become very annoying.
  • Brightness levels aren’t as great as Plasma and it’s not possible to display darks quite as dark.

Plasma
Plasma technology hasn’t been as widely used as LCD in previous years but has become very popular in large HDTV’s. Although they have historically been more expensive than LCD TV’s, they are becoming more comparable in price.
Pro’s
  • Brightness and color are the major advantages of Plasma TV’s. They produce rich colors along with very deep blacks.
  • Their wide viewing angles allow more people to be able to watch TV comfortably.
  • The pixels of Plasma TV’s are lit individually unlike LCD screens. Because of this feature, the pixels can be completely turned off to display truck black colors.
Con’s
  • The lifespan of a Plasma TV is typically shorter than other types of TV’s. The lifespan can be extended by turning down the brightness of the screen.
  • Plasma TV’s are more susceptible to screen burn-in where an image is “burnt” onto the screen when left on the screen too long such as a network logo in the bottom right corner of the screen.
  • Plasma TV’s require a panel of glass to cover it. This glass can reflect light and make it difficult to see the picture. If placed in a dark room, this typically isn’t an issue.

LCD screen flashes

There is nothing wrong with your camera - It is doing what it is meant to do!

The purpose of the flashing areas is to drawn your attention to parts of the image that are over-exposed. In an ideal world nothing would ever be overexposed, but if the image has both very dark and very bright areas, the camera cannot capture both - something has to give! The flashing areas are just to let you know.

It's covered on page 52 of the manual.

Samsung 40" LCD 1080p

Yes, it's not uncommon. It also depends a bit on the TV. Some are better than others. There is a connection between price and quality, although it is not absolute. What kind of equipment are you using? DVD, satelite tuner etc, and how is it connected? (scart etc)

Colors can be adjusted from the menus (se your manual for reference). I've never seen a TV that don't need color adjusting before it gets good, as color experience will vary with room coloring and light, etc.

The LCD screen is hard to see. What should I do?

If the LCD screen is too bright or too dark, adjust the LCD Brightness setting in the Setup Menu. If you are shooting photos outdoors in bright light, move the joystick to the icon showing the sun over shaowed area to turn on Outdoor mode and make the LCD screen easier to see in bright light.
