Question about Canon Printers & Copiers

1 Answer

Canon Pixma MP470 Need to print contact sheet, but class requirement is 20 pics per sheet (4 across / 5 down). Canon's default is different and I can't figure out how to change it. Do you know how? Thanks

I'll give it a shot.  The printer menu is so convoluted and not at all user friendly, in my opinion.  . . . you turn it on and the screen defaults to "copy" . . . and there doesn't seem to be a printer screen.   I'll poke around some more and see if I can find it.
    Thanks.  :)

You have to go to the printer tab and there is a tab about properties

Go to that window and there are so many tabs try go one by one and you will get the answer for this

2-sided printing

The option you're after is "duplex" which is in the "printing preferences" (printers > MP470 (right click) > printing preferences)

I believe the MP470 doesn't have a built in duplexer so this would require you to manually put the first printed page back in, as per the instructions which usually accompany the printing job.

From painful experience it requires a little out-of-body viewing ability to put yourself through the path the paper will take to understand how it goes in.

...BUT once you've got it, I'd recommend making a note with a template you can pin to a wall or similar so you don't have to go through the whole "how does it work again?" process.

Canon MP470 printer problem

I think your printer requires a little servicing. Those spots are usually caused by a dirty gamma wire, and probably the fuser is requiring a replacement. Both tasks can be done on-site, but require a little knowledge of the printer internal parts.

It sounds like the black tank/printhead is leaking. If it is, it'll be empty soon. New tank will solve that problem.
