This is not a projection tv but a CRT Mitsubishi 32" and would you get a shock only if the tv is plugged into a power source? It was working fine and was moved to another room of the house when the problem started.

TV turns itself off, then on automaticlly

The fan should run for a few minutes after shut off to cool the lamp down.

If I read and understand correctly somewhere in the cycle you are getting 5 red blinks? that is an error code........

Either you or I can Google the model number of the set with 5 blinks.....or visit the Sony site to see what it means.....

How do i reset the projection lamp timer?

Hello
Press the "Power" button on the TV remote to turn the TV on. Press the "Display" key. Press "5," followed by the "Vol+" key, followed by the "Power" button. Wait for the service menu screen to appear on the screen. This could take anywhere from a couple of seconds up to a minute or two.
Press the "Jump" key three times in rapid succession. Press "2" nine times in rapid succession

Press "3" once, followed by the "Mute" key, followed by the "Enter" key. Wait as the screen flashes momentarily.

Press the "Power" button on the TV to exit the "Service menu" and turn the TV off.

LAMP KEEP BLOWING OUT. TOSHIBA 65 HM167

I had this same problem with my Mitsubishi it is when you have fast on mode set it pre warms the bulb to much. I turneed it off and now the bulb has lasted much longer Setting the Power-On Mode feature You can select either Power-Saving or Fast mode. If you select Power-Saving mode and you turn off the TV, it can take several seconds for the picture to appear when you turn on the TV again. Power-Saving mode saves more power than Fast mode. See "Specifications" on page 66 for details. If you select Fast mode and the TV is turned off, the TV will stay in Standby mode for several minutes (see Note below). If the TV is turned on from Standby mode, the full picture appears immediately. To set the Power-On Mode feature: 1 Press Y and open the Setup menu. 2 Highlight Power-On Mode and press c. 3 Press b or B to select either Fast or Power-Saving and press T. Note: If Power-On Mode is set to Fast and you turn off the TV, the following will occur for a few minutes: • The screen (lamp) lights dimly; and • The fans continue to run. This is a function of the Power-On Fast Shutdown mode and is not a TV malfunction. If you do not prefer this, set the PowerOn Mode feature to Power-Saving. When the Power-On Mode feature is set to Power-Saving, if you repeatedly turn the TV on and off in a short period of time, the useful service life of the lamp may be shorter than the average useful service life (- page 63).
this is from your manual not my Mitsubishi please rate this answer if you felt it was useful.

Code for the one forall for a sharp tv

You do not need a code...
Heres how to set up your remete..
Turn on the devise you want to set up.
Press the set up key on the control firmly until the red light lites up and stays lit. Now press the key for the devise you are trying to set up(dvd, vcr, tv etc..).. the red light will now turn off.
Now facing the devise, begin pressing the power button several times until the devise turns off. Be careful not to press the power button any more after it turns off. After it turns off , you must immediatly press the enter key in order for the control to save the code. Now your control is set up. If this does not work , it is because you pressed the power button once more after the tv turned off....
This process might take you anywhere from 3 to 5 minutes.
