On the existing wires with the extra toggle switch, one wire should be a ground, and the other a hot lead.

Installed LED turn signal lights. Turn signal now blinks too fast. Solution

Hi Dennis
the indicator blinking fast because the LED use less AMP then ordinary bulb, I know an old trick to solve this problem is to connect an extra bulb to each rear indicator by running an extra wires from the light connector to an extra bulb holder.
Good Luck

How to wire aftermarket turn signals

The stock rear function ONLY as turn signals, while the fronts ALSO function as running lights (hence the extra wire).
On the aftermarkets, one wire will be the ground (usually BLACK).
The stock setup probably grounded through the metal casing.
The aftermarket housings MIGHT be plastic, so they need a separate ground wire.
Myself, I'd reverse them and wire the 3 wires to the rear, to have them act as extra brake lights also.

I have a 97 vti-s that somebody ripped the factory stereo out and left bare wires i have 13 wires - 12 of which i know and a yellow/black one that i need help finding what its for

some times factory stereos have extra wires that when installing an after market stereo might be extra. if you have your 3 power wires figured out, your speaker wires figured out, and remote start amp wires, then your good. it is possible that it is a wire that turned the light on the factory stereo when lights were turned on in your car. hope this helps, goodluck

Have just put an after market LED tail light on and a YZ rear guard and got some extra wires left over. The tail light works but the brake light won't come on! All the indicators work too. Model WR450F 06...

You will have to take a test light and place it on the extra wires and apply the brake to see which wire is for the brake light. When you have asstablished that then that wire will need to be attached to the side of the light that has the brightest, element, which is used for the brake light.

I have a 2005 ram 1500. I want to wire extra

I strongly suggest that you use a relay, or you risk damage to switch and light components.

Then, take a test light, find the high beam wire, and wire the relay to that. In essence, you want the power from the high beam circuit to energize the relay. The relay would be wired directly to the battery.

This method will give you longevity. you are using the high beam power to activate a switch (the relay).

I changed the towing socket for my caravan.

White is usually for earth wire. The fitter may have just used another white wire for reverse light. use a test light or multimeter to see if you have positive power to the extra white wire while in reverse.

Hi trying to replace my alternator 2 wires and 1 big stud on it,but this new alternator got 3 wires and a big stud.just can,t figure out how to fix.please help.

The extra wire is likely a ground wire that goes to the engine block. You can add a wire to the engine block Using a test light ,the wire that lights when touching the shell of the alternator and the wire with the other lead is the(extra) ground wire.

I have the Hampton Bay 5-Light Track Lighting

Skill, patience, preseverance, and experience. You ned to cut and strip the wires so they "just fit" into the space provided leading to the connectyion screws. no room for stuffing , and no extra wiggle room for and bends or kinks .. You mightb try mounting the wires and then pushing the extra wire back up intio the ceiling junction box, thats what I do.
