LOOKS like regulator worn out or if compressor has heavy whispering sound means not generating enough pressure to go through the check valve.

Air compressor starts and builds air then idles and when it goes to rebuild air it dies

if your saying it wont recover from idle down mode back to full speed , this might be the IR fuel pump/regulator problem (a pressure gauge will need to be added to verify this ) , if so save your money go with an aftermarket pump it'll last longer

Compressor runs to 175psi but trips pressure relief when pressure drops tries to restart motor but motor wont turn blows breaker. changed whole pressure switch have same problem.

The problem is lilkely the check valve between the compressor and the tank -- it is alowing pressure to build from tank to compressor preventing the compressor from turning over. Clean, maybe replace, check valve...

AIR PRESSURE WILL NOT GO OVER 40 LB . CHANGED THE PRESSURE SWITCH CHECK VALVE PUT NEW COMPRESSION RING KIT ALSO TOOK OFF THE PRESSURE REG. OFF FOR A WHILE. AND STILL WILL NOT GO OVER 40 LB

Hi, my name is John. Welcome to FixYa. Check the line coming from the pump to the tank for a split or hole, I have found that this is some how over looked. You may have to remove the line to inspect it. Check all hoses for air leaks. Thanks for choosing FixYa...John

Air Compressor will not build up over 25 PSI

your max pressure switch is faulty, and shutting off the power early. replace switch, check owners manual for location(should be near power wires)

EC-12 runs but only builds to 35 psi and continues to run

It looks like there might be a knob which sets the max air pressure coming from the compressor. If there is one, this may have been turned down.

There are usually 3 pressure settings on an electric compressor. Compressor max, pressure switch cut on, and pressure switch cut off.
