Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

Every time I try to open PlayPro Interative Guitar, I an error message that reads, failed to open audio device and that it's being used by another program. There isn't anything else open. I checked my audio and sound devices and it's working properly. I have another interactive guitar program on my computer from True Fire, that's not on. What do I have to do?

    It's a Dell Pentium 4, 2.66 GHz 512 Mb of Ram

  • Alvin Todd Mar 13, 2011

    Didn't work.

  • Alvin Todd Mar 13, 2011

Don't bother I've spent a ton of time on this, I'm not computer savy so evrything I downloaded just went to a file on my desktop. When I tried to open the files to download I wasn't able to down load to my computer. I give up, I guess I'll have to buy a new computer. I could have spent all the time I wasted using a book instead. Technology can be a pain.

When trying to open WaveLab 6 using Windows 7 I get an Unknown TException error message.

""When trying to open WaveLab 6 using Windows 7 I get an Unknown TException error message."Don't know if this helps. I'm using Win 10 with Presonus Firestudio as my audio interface. I kept getting the unknown TException when I tried to open Wavelab 6. Solved it by going to device manager and disabling the internal AMD sound card and two "High Definition Audio devices" with mfg shown as Microsoft. Must have been hardware conflict between Presonus and internal sound card.

My hi-fi refuses to play CDs! it comes up with a 'no disc' error when there really is a disc there.

The "no disc" error message indicates that the unit failed to read the disc. There can be a number of reasons for this. Try opening up the unit and cleaning the lens using a cotton swab and alcohol. Many times that cleaning will resolve the problem. If not, please supply the make and model of the unit and I'll provide additional options.

Initialization failed - Unable to acquire TWAIN-compliant device

Hello,

I have seen your message stating that "Initialization failed - Unable to acquire TWAIN-compliant device" error is received when trying to connect USB-Parallel type to your Laptop.

Well,  Printer  Panasonic UF4100, recommends to use only " Printer/Scanner Interface as Bi-directional Parallel (IEEE1284) " means you need to use Parallel cable to connect Printer to the Computer/Notebook.  You may receive some communication error messages if you are using a  "PORT REPLICATOR CABLE"( USB TO PARALLEL connector).  The error message that you have received is related to the communication error. Futher, if you use same USB- Parallel cable for long time the Printer Hardware functionality might go bad, since Printer memory gets confused and will not read or detect the Cable , since it is not a cable to use  mentioned by Panasonic Manufacturer.

Let me tell you, general functionality of Printer like Printing would work even if you use USB-Parallel cable. But it is not a case with Scanner and Fax functionality.

Hence, I recommend you to use only Parallel cable to connect your Printer to the Laptops.

I hope that this will resolve the issue for you.

You can email me at thumuvikram@rediffmail.com if you need further assistance.

Bye.

DEVICE HAS'' READ ACCESS ERROR-CANNOT READ FROM HARD DISK''

If you have problems with the file system on your Gmini you can try to fix it using the DOS utility, check disk (chkdsk). Do the following; ? Make sure external AC adapter is powering the Gmini. ? Quit all running applications. ? Properly connect the Gmini to your computer ? Wait patiently (up to 5 minutes) for Windows XP to show the local drive as mounted. ? Open a DOS window. Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt. ? At the prompt, type chkdsk e: /f. Use e: or f: or whatever drive letter is representing your Gmini. The /f argument tells the program to automatically fix errors. ? Be patient, this may take a while. ? When it is finished, exit the DOS Window and properly disconnect the Gmini from your computer. Try using the device now and see if makes any difference. If not you could try formatting it using a DOS prompt.

Problem with guitar

1.make sure the guitar/mic switch is pointed to the guitar side. increase the guitar/mic level. increase the output level. 2.another thing you can do is check the "sound and audio devices" to see if everything is set to Edirol UA-4FX. If everything isnt, fix it so that it does. and remember to disable your computers stock sound card. Edirol UA-4FX is your new sound card from now on. 3. if thats not the case, try reinstalling the drivers. 4. If all of the above fail, you probably have a loose connection/ bad wiring in the guitar/mic 1/4" input. you can choose to open up the device and solder that yourself and possibly lose your warranty or have the entire unit replaced. Hope I helped! good luck!
