A lose wire in the fan/light housing. the motion of the fan is moving it creating a short. I wouldnt us it till it gets repaired. Its a pretty basic unit, kill the power, and drop the light housing and check all connections. If not in housing, check connection in the ceiling, you got a lose wire somewhere.

My Hunter ceiling fan model 21332 lights are blinking but I did not find the watt governor on the light assembly. How can I fixed the blinking light problem

If the lights are blinking when the the fan is on, the blinking is probably caused by vibration of the fan running. Which may indicate a loose wiring connection within the light kit housing. Or the light kit is not wired properly to the fan. In any event, the only way to check this is start taking the light kit apart were it attaches to the fan and search for loose connections (wire nuts). If none are found, continue to the electrical connections where the fan is mounted to the ceiling. If the light kit is controlled by a dimmer switch on the wall, the dimmer switch may also be the culprit. Be sure to turn the circuit breaker off to the line that feeds the fan before attempting any repairs.

I have a fairly new hunter ceiling fan/light. Often when we turn the light on it continuously blinks on and off. To remedy this problem we need to cycle the switch (sometimes many times). I am assuming...

on most of the hunter fans there is a watt governor in it. if problems with lights blinking, remove watt govrnor, then wire it direct without governor. governor part # 98480-02, have a good day !!

The light portion of my hunter ceiling fan is blinking. At first it started blinking, then it didn't work at all, now it is blinking again. What is wrong?

the blinking is caused by the watt governor to lights( its a small black box with slots in it ). just remove this box and wire direct. this should fix problem.

if problems with blinking lights, remove watt governor on inside of fan for the lights.its a black box, white to white wire and black to red wire. and wire it direct without watt governor or black box. this should fix the problem. the part # 98480-02 for watt governor. they installed watt governors on ceiling fans to reduce light wattage.

Light s blinking on and off

Receiver for remote control of light goes bad over time. If you are competent with electrical wiring you can bypass this defective component. Take the light kit off (3 screws) and unplug the modular plug. Trace wires from lights back to a small box in the light kit containing electronic components (you can see circuit board, capacitors etc - in my case this was part # 98480-02). This is what you will be bypassing or replacing. In my case the fan did not come with a remote, so I removed & bypassed this box. (white wire to white, red wire to black. Light now works fine, no blinking.

Have a hunter ceiling fan with light kit and remote. Lights have started turning on and off by themselves ?

This is likely caused by stray frequencies in the neighborhood. Change the frequency on your system and see if the lights go off less frequently.

See the manual for the remote system. You'll need to go into the top of the fan and change some little switches (dip switches) and set the same frequency on the transmitter (what most call "the remote").
