Where do Install the side scan sonar transducer on a 44' fiberglass boat with twin screws? If I transom mount as shown, will I have interference from the wheels? 2nd. IF I do mount on transome, it's approx a 40' run of wire up and thru to the flying bridge where the display wil be? Do they offer extension cables and if so will the longer run havew any affect on the performance?

I suspect that the long run will not affect the performance, and I suspect that extensions are available, check with Lowrance.
Consider a through hull mount, if you are worried about prop wash interferenace... Also, I would like the depth to be read closer to mid ship..... Hate to pull be vessel. but that is how you would do it...

Thx Doc, the transducer is a separtate component from the side scan transducer. It's configuration is such that I have never seen a Thru hull fitting that will allow just a cable from the transducer "thru the hull. It appears to have to be either transome mounted or "keel" mounted. Keel, I think would give the best results? But I still have to get teh cable thru the hull. Thx for trying tho!

Could you please tell me the transom angle on a 2006 lund,SSV 14,need to know,to mount a transducer correctly.thanks

Don't over think this. Mount your transducer so it will set parallel to the lake bottom when the boat is in the water. If your off by a degree or two it will not affect your sonar performance. The human eye can measure differences in angle down to about 1/10th of an inch. "Eyeball it" and you will be good to go.

Y cant i mount my structure scan transducer on the bottom of the boat

This is what the manual says:
The StructureScan transducer can be mounted on the transom,
jackplate, step or directly to your boat's hull.
When mounting it directly to the hull, you must purchase a high-
quality, marine grade above- or below-waterline sealant/adhesive

Sonar is working erratically. Loses bottom and flashes. Anything to do other than replace the transducer?

I have a very similar problem. Unfortunately my boating season is over until next May. I found I was at software rev 2.30 and should be at 3.40 Some of the software updates were to resolve sounder problems.

You can use a thru-hull transducer but a transom mount transducer will always interference with all of that water and alot of air bubbles moving under it at high speeds.

Sonar not working properly, intermittent

Generally, that indicates air bubbles in the water under the transducer. If you have a transom-mount transducer, make sure the bottom surface is level or angled slightly down. If you have a thru-hull, make sure your bottom is fairly clean in that area.
