you need to bridge, yes
the other thing you need to do, is right click on the internet connection and say "Allow other computers to connect to the internet via this connection"
this should allow the ps3 to grab an IP address via DHCP

When my son plays his PS3 after a while the screen goes blank and the message: check signal cable appears. His PS3 is connected to tv with an HDMi cable and the cable that fits into the AV with the three...

Try these steps:

1. Before resetting cables, make sure PS3 is turned off using the main power switch on the back.
2. Unplug the power cord of the PS3 and TV from the wall socket.
3. Connect HDMI cable to HDMI Out on back of PS3
4. Connect HDMI cable to HDMI Input port of the TV
5. Plug the PS3 and TV back in to the wall socket
6. Turn the main power switch on the back of the PS3 on.
7. While the PS3 in standby mode(red light on) hold down the on/off button on front of system until the system goes into standby mode again. (So the light cycle would go red light-green light-then back to red. This will ensure you held down long enough to reset video output settings.
8. Turn on the PS3 and once the system finishes powering up, the video output settings will automatically reset.

PS3 will not turn on

your ps3 has the yellow light of death, here are some quick fix you can do:

1. Turn off your PS3. If you think it has been caught by the heat, then give it some time to cool down and turn it back on again

2. Check your PS3 and see if there is any loose cable

3. Try to put out the hard-drive, and put it back in. You might want to repeat this 2-3 times for better results

4. Clean the air vents from dust and PLEASE don't put your PS3 on the floor on up against the wall because it will block the air and that what cause the ps3 to overheat

Good luck.

My ps3 turns on but i have no picture at all........ ive had it 2 years and never had any problems with it. could my hd cable be faulty??? ive had that the same amount of time???

Hello,
Possible reasons for mess up:
1A.yes it could be the hd cable
2A.have you changed tv's to a standard t.v and switched back
3A.used hd cables for a sd tv because the resolution could be too high for that t.v.
4A. or sadly the system is dead

Possible solutions:
1B. if it's 2A. try putting the system into safe mode by pressing and holding the power button for 5sec. till you hear a beep and that should reset the picture settings.
2B. if it's 1A and you wanted to trouble shoot try to get another hd cable.
3B.if it's 3A hook hd cable back to hd t.v and see if that works
4B. Call SONY for help and advice and they may be able to fix it and if not you get a new system (for free if under warranty) for $150

p.s. the average life span of a ps3 is about 2 yrs. Sorry for any bad news
I hope I have helped and I hope it works!!

Some kind of feedback

Hi,

I suspect that what you are referring to as "feedback or "low hum" is actually 60cycles AC hum coming from the mains. Though this is fairly common, it is quite challenging to figure out corrective actions since you have to do trial & error to determine which of your cables/devices combination would start the hum.

In some instances, this could be corrected by inserting the AC plug of the device the other way around to the mains outlet (if the prongs would allow it). Further, a filtered powerstrip instead of the wall outlet would probably also help.

Hope that this be of some help/idea. Pls post back how things worked out or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Ps3 is not working

First Off I'd suggest going out and buying a A/V cable, either a normal one that retails for around 10 dollars US currency or a hi def one thats about 20 dollars US currency and hook the system up. It should be able to recognize it then, and you can go into settings and change over to the HDMI cable if you wish to. Or maybe the system just downright doesn't work, it'd be good to know, hmm?
