Why does my freeveiw model Hitachi HDR 1632s coad alublkw only allow me to view what I'm recording. The other channels just say no signal check aerial connections ?

The Frie view is a digital recorder, you only can pause while recording. You don't need tapes to disks.
The antena cable goes in on one socket on the back. In the other socket, you plug a 1 meter coax cable and that cable should go into your TV. That should solve the problem, when you want to see the channels you are not recording.

Im trying to tune in my old super nintendo my lcd tv that has built in freeveiw but i cant find the channel!

Has your freeview tv got a built in RF i.e (not a digital freeview) tuner? If it hasnt then you wont be able to tune it into your LCD TV by connecting it through your aerial socket. However I think you can get a cable so that you can plug the nintendo directly into a scart or rgb input. Something like this.

http://www.consoleplus.co.uk/product_info.php?pName=av-cable-for-gamecuben64-and-snes&osCsid=0d6106987e4b7a95fc32bf0d45a3b6d1

Then you can just switch to your scart or rgb source on your telly and play on your snes.

After attaching a freeview box to my Acoustic Solutions LCD32NK750HD 32" inch LCD HD TV the picture started to scramble and **** about the screen, this would stop when I turn the TV off and back on...

How have you got freeveiw connected to your set and what input are you using?
when connecting the freeveiw unit to the tv did you have the power connected and turned on to either tv or freeveiw?
how many sets are connected to the freeveiw unit,
All these things can affect this equation,

it sounds like the set had a power surge from the plugging in of the freeview,
the f connection output from the freeveiw set has a live voltage feed that powers either the mast head amp or the balun in the center of the dish,
for these to work correctly the cable between the freeveiw and the aerial/dish needs power,
this annoying little fault can only be remedied by taking it to the repair man,

Let us know the outcome thanks ,
hope this helps,
