SOURCE: lid of food processor
i had the same thing happen to me just last night after grating some parmesan. what ended up happening is that i put too much stress on it and one of the little catches on the side of the bowl welded itself to the lid. not enough to be permanently stuck, but enough to make it impossible to open.
i found that if i wedged a flathead screw driver underneath the side that was melted together, i was able to separate the two welded pieces, and then open the lid right as normal.
hope this helps.
otherwise, you'll have to go to gourmetdepot.com and order a new bowl and lid (30 bucks each)

Place the gearbox on top of the blender/food processor
Place the work bowl over the spindle, with the handle facing the front of the machine - make sure the tabs lock into place.
Place the stem adapter on top of the spindle, then the blade.
Place the lid on top of the bowl, with the feed tube facing the back of the food processor. Then the pusher into the feed tube.
