How do you unlock region code on Samsung BD-H6500 smart blue- ray player

The hack for this 3D Blu Ray player is the same as for previous models.

1. Make sure NO disc or usb stick is inserted into the player.
2. Turn on your your blu ray player.
3. When the main menu appears, press the REPEAT button followed by the region code your player is currently locked to - depending on which country
you are in (eg: in Australia press "REPEAT 7 6 8 8 4".
4. In the top right corner you will see your region code flash (eg: 4 for Australia).
5. Press 9.
6. Turn off and on and your BD-E6500 is now region free.

How this differs from the opening post is no need to open and close the disc tray.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

So, after pressing REPEAT please enter one of the following codes the matches your current region lock:

1 - 2 9 3 3 4 (US)
2 - 5 7 5 3 8 (Europe)
3 - 5 6 7 3 2 (South East Asia)
4 - 7 6 8 8 4 (Australia / South America)
5 - 5 3 8 1 4 (India, Ukraine, Belarus, Russia, Africa)
6 - 2 4 4 6 2 (China)

9 - Region Free

Then press '9' and your player is region free.

Is there a way to change the region code on a Sony HCD-S300 Please?

Unfortunately, you have a DVD player that is "Region Specific" and cannot be changed. Your system has a region code printed on the back of the unit and will only play DVDs that are labeled with identical region codes. DVDs labeled "ALL" will also play in this unit. If you try to play any other DVD, the message " Playing this disc is prohibited by area limits." will appear on the TV screen. Depending on the DVD, no region code indication may be labeled even though playing is prohibited by area limits.

Hi i have moved to australia and need to change my samsung ht-bd2e to region free can you help pelase?

Hello

1. Ensure that there is no disk in the tray.

2. Switch the player off and then back on. This is necessary to clean-boot the firmware.

3. Wait until the main menu page appears and the player stops doing anything.

4. Press the eject button to open the tray. (The button is between the "Power" and "TV Power" buttons at the top of the controller.)

5. Press the eject button to close the tray.

6. Wait while the player searches for a disk.

7. As soon as the "No Disk" message appears at the top left corner do the following.

8. Press the REPEAT button - just above the TV channel selector at the bottom right of the controller.

9. Enter your former region code (Where you bought the player) from the list given below on the number pad.

10. The region code should appear at the top left corner of the screen.

11. Enter a "9" to make the player region free. (Enter a region code if you want to lock the player to another region for some obscure or perverse reason.)

12. Power down and power up again.

13. Play a foreign DVD to verify the change.

you must start entering the code just after the "No Disk" message is shown and before the message disappears. If you miss a number it won't work

Secondly, the REPEAT key is part of the code. All six keys must be entered smoothly as "REPEAT Region code". The entry gets timed out so you can't stop in the middle and restart. Don't bash away like crazy, just do it smoothly and briskly.

If you don't see the "Region number" the first time, don't worry. Just repeat the process. It may take about a dozen tries before you get it to work.

The following are the various region codes.

Region 1 (US, Canada) - 29334

Region 2 (Europe, Middle East, Japan) - 38767

Region 3 (South East Asia, Hong Kong) - 56732

Region 4 (South America, Oceania) - 76884

Region 5 (Russia, India) - 53814

Region 6 (China) - 24462

This is a replacement player and it will not play some of my best disks I get 'wrong area code'.I live in Australia and bought the player from a reputable store. Thanks John Leigh.

Either the player or the disks are for a different region. The bright people who run the entertainment bussiness decide that it would be a good idea that only players and disks from certain areas of the world should only be used in their particular region. I quess they thought that no one moves or buys things through e-bay.
Try one of these resets
Open the tray.
- On your remote press '0000'.
- Press '0' to make it region free or whichever zone you want to set it to.
- The newly selected region will appear on the top left corner of the screen.
- Close the tray.

Turn on the player.
2. Open the tray.
3. Press the following sequence on the remote:
7 8 9 OK 0
4. The number 0 will appear on the lower left side of your screen.
5. Your player is now region free! Put in a DVD and enjoy! :)

5. Press 9 on your remote (Region free)
6. Again press the SUBTITLE button on your remote

If your player is NOT Region 4 by default then you will need to Substitute the Numbers in Step 3 with the ones Below.

Region codes:
RC 1: 2, 9, 3, 3, 4
RC 2: 3, 8, 7, 6, 7 (or 5, 7, 5, 3, 8 )
RC 3: 5, 6, 7, 3, 2
RC 4: 7, 6, 8, 8, 4
RC 5: 5, 3, 8, 1, 4
RC 6: 2, 4, 4, 6, 2

For Example if your Player was Purchased in the USA ( Which is Region 1) then Step 3 would read :-
