Frequently but not always fails to communicate with its outside transmitter even if they are next to each other

Greetings and thanks for comment. However when they are failing they fail to communicate even when they are right next to one another on the kitchen table. On the other hand this morning we found them in proper communication in their normal locations. It didn't last.

    Best wishes

    Good evening.
The problem is that if they have decided not to communicate they fail when they are right next to each other. It can't be a signal strength problem. Surely must be a marginal tuning problem?
I suppose my question amounts to asking what is it that the transmitted puts out - and which the receiver decides not to read for about 90% of the time.
Needless to say, batteries are not the problem for new batteries don't fix it.

    Best wishes

I would suggest you move the transmitter and receiver closer together or into areas of the least physical obstructions.

This is my best suggestion, signal strength changes all the time, just watch the signal strength bars on any cell phone while standing in the same location, so my suggestion remain the same.

SS 5010 not sensing outside temperature. I replaced the batteries in the transmitter and pressed the TX. However, the display inside just keeps blinking. I can see the inside temperature.

Inside temp is separate from connection whatsoever. If the outside transmitter has new power and fails, it may have gotten wet inside and may be rendered useless. Replace with a new outdoor transmitter.

Change the instrument cluster or have your's repaired .
The instrument cluster is a configurable, hybrid electronic cluster (HEC) that contains a microprocessor, gauges, indicator lamps, and internal circuitry. The instrument cluster is non-repairable with the exception of the instrument cluster lens and indicator bulbs. The instrument cluster uses hardwired circuitry, the controller area network (CAN) and the universal asynchronous receiver transmitter (UART)-based protocol (UBP) communication networks. Communication using the CAN transmits and receives data between the instrument cluster and the powertrain control module (PCM), and the anti-lock brake system (ABS) module. Communication using the UBP network uses data transmitted and received by the instrument cluster, and the electronic automatic temperature control (EATC), vehicle security module, and the driver seat module. The restraint control module (RCM) and the parking aid module communication is on the international standards organization (ISO) network. For additional information regarding the CAN, UBP and ISO communication networks, refer to Section 418-00 .
It is very important to understand:
  • where the input originates from.
  • all the information necessary in order for a feature to operate.
  • which module(s) receive(s) the input or command message.
  • whether the module which received the input controls the output of the feature, or whether it outputs a message over the communication network to another module.
  • which module controls the output of the feature.
Instrument Cluster Module Configuration When installing a new instrument cluster, the instrument cluster must be configured. For additional information, refer to Section 418-01 . The instrument cluster is a configurable, hybrid electronic cluster (HEC) that contains a microprocessor, gauges, indicator lamps, and internal circuitry. The following items must be configured when installing a new instrument cluster:
  • vehicle security module
  • outside air temperature
  • outside air temperature settings (°C/°F)
  • compass
  • climate control (manual or electronic)
  • belt minder
  • speedometer
  • overspeed warning
  • your best bet , take it to a qualified repair shop. Dealer

Can't get outside temp on my atomic clock

If you still have the instructions read up on pairing the transmitter to the clock. You'll need to do that every time you change batteries on the outside transmitter. If you don't have those instructions , go to the clock's web page to get the manual for your model of clock.

How do I get the outside temperature to display on my Springield 91905-002?

If you read the instructions for your Springfield device, you probably will find a specific routine has to be followed to get the remote transmitter and indoor receiver communicating. Specifically, you should install batteries in the transmitter first then the indoor receiver. Wait for awhile for communication to start; it is not instantaneous.

Wa 1070t willnot transmit signal from the outside sensors to the display

I have a WA-1070T with same problem
brand new would not communicate

look very carefully at the positive end of the battery connections in the outdoor transmitter

One of the two batteries were not making a connection

I had to cut out a small piece of plastic that interfered with battery alignment

As soon as batteries are installed in remote transmitter you will see a red LED flash a few times

After I made this correction everything worked

My original key fobs quit working on my 2005 GMC Yukon SLT. I changed the batteries with no positive result. I next replaced the key fobs and followed the programming. This worked for a couple of months...

The keyless entry system has the following main components:
• The transmitters
• The passenger door module (PDM)
The PDM communicates with the body control module (BCM) through the keyless entry serial data circuit. When you press a button on a transmitter, the transmitter sends a signal to the PDM. The PDM sends a request to the BCM and the BCM performs the appropriate function.

My clock is nort showing up the outside tempertute

Seems to be a consistent problem with Skyscan. I have the 88800 model and my outdoor transmitter isn't transmitting the temperature either. We've replaced the batteries in both the transmitter and clock and nothing for outdoor temp. It's only been used for 9 months.

I have no outside temp. reading on my clock.

Remove batteries from the clock and the outside temperature transmitter. Put the clock and the transmitter next to each other, then install the batteries in both units. This should fix it. If not, you have a bad tempurature sending unit, or a dead battery in the sending unit.

This is a very common problem that is most frequently caused by the outdoor transmitter going bad. They are surprisingly delicate and don't like getting wet.

You can order replacement transmitters from

They only cost $11 and that includes shipping and handling.
