Question about Cameras
You have not mentioned the make model of the device but I presume this is a cassette video recorder. It is possible that the camcorder is shutting down due to a error or protection. This can be due to failure of the drum, action of the DEW switch or a failure of the capstan or the reel drives.
You will need some tech help to check these one by one to confirm, If this is a dew protection,use a hair dryer to warm inside of the cassette tray, drum region and try to play.
