Well it sometimes happens because of a glitch is has happened once with me so try cleaning the gamepacks with qutips and rubbing alcohal then. If its all the time the console has an internal issue but once in a while no big deal.

The red light flashes on my NES and on the TV screen, it keeps on changing colors. Do you know whats wrong?

The NES is touchy like that, sadly-- your problem isn't uncommon. My NES, and the NES of nearly every friend I have who still owns one, plays this little trick on them from time to time. Here's what we do:

1. Turn off the NES console.
2. Blow into bottom of the game, near the chip that connects to the NES.
3. Wipe away any excess dust from the game itself.
4. Blow into the console of the NES.
5. Wipe away any excess dust.
6. Re-insert the game and try again.

If this doesn't work, try placing the game in more delicately, or with more force. It's just a matter of trial and error, and sometimes it will work faster than others. Hope this helped!

Last evening I turned on my super nintendo and it showed the rainbow colors then. Why would it do this then?

Well if it still works fine it might just be a glitch then that has happened to me once so you could
try cleaning out the gamepacks with qutips and rubbing alcohal but if its consistant than theres an internal issue with the console. Once in a while its fine then.

Rainbow Effect going down my screen as i play on my SNES. I bought a new AV cable and Power cable. I cleaned all of the connections and Cartridges, its the same pattern and effect on all games. What else...

Well there might be an issue with the internals in the inside of the console that are doing this like the carrtige reader needs to be replaced you should buy a new super nES console if its this bad.

Well I think that there might be an connection problem with inside of the console like the 62 pinconnecter has gone bad or one of the chips is broken you should buy a new one if its that awful.

Well the cartiage reader is bad and needs to be replaced or some of the pieces inside of the super NES console went bad then. You should buy a new one if its that severe and don't use it any more either.

My NES wont play games. when I turn it on it just comes to this odd brownish orange color. What can I do to fix it?

Well a brown or an orange screen means an internal hardware failure or a bomb was in
it and the bomb blew up then.

If it still plays games, I wouldn't be to worried. These old consoles can be moody. You might try cleaning the dust out of it and check your AV or RF connector, (which ever you are using).

Good luck.

Whenever i turn on my NES the power light blinks and the screen blinks colors, why?

Hi sounds like the common fault found with these old retro consoles. Flashing light is mostly because the system does not make good contact with the game. which may be because of a worn out connector pins in side the console or dirty games recommend cleaning all your games with a game cartridge paste cleaner and replacing the connector pin with a new one. see http://www.gameoz.com.au/store/nintendo-entertainment-system/nes-accessories/ they carry these items and included photo instructions.

NES in Black and white only...?!

Thats quite a odd issue, and I have never heard or seen a case such as this. Maybe your color balance chip is fried? NES is a 20+ year old system, so I wouldn't doubt the NES may have more issues then just a lockout chip error or a new pin connector.
