I would guess the optical mechanism is unable to focus properly on the disks. The lens is probably out of alignment with the other lenses in the optical system (could it be upside down or tilted?). The focus mechanism is rather delicate; perhaps it was damaged. Can you provide the link for your online source?

How to reseat crt socket board hitachi

First if one was loose that color (red, green or blue) would be affected.

To look---guessing a older projection set and a model number would help-----the older ones front speaker grill comes off and an inspection plate behind it----necks of the 3 tubes will be pointed down with a board on each-----just look (do not touch) to see none are down or loose.

More commonly on some models they develop a problem where the filament voltage for the tubes is down and the picture gradually gets darker------have the lens(again a older set) been cleaned or not?

Remove rear cover with set unplugged and inspect the 3 large lens--if dusty clean with lens cloth---they are the light source and if dirty picture on these sets will be darker and dull looking

best answer possible with no model number given.

When I hit power button to turn on cd Changer I get a code: E99.

If this was recently shipped, the lens may have been damage or misaligned.

Try pressing the RESET button on the hideaway unit

There could potentially be a loose ribbon on the inside. If this is new, opening it may terminate your warranty, but the ribbon may just need to be reseated.

Blue dots in middle of screen on our Sony 50 inch TV Model number KDF50WE655 How do we fix it?

I have found 3 possible solutions. 1 replace the lamp. 2 check the LVDS cables. these are like computer monitor type cables inside that go from main board to optical cables. I would reseat these before i replaced them. if nether of these work then i would suspect the optical block... essiticaly all the lens and optics in thes set. this is the most expensive part in the set around 800 dollars. this is usally the problem i have seen a couple at the shop with this problem..

The cd drive won't recognize that there is a disc in place.

Try cleaning the optical drive lens with alcohol.Try deleting the CD/DVD drive entry from the device manager and let Windows re-detect the optical drive on startup. It will reinstall the driver. If none of these helps, probably you’ll have to replace the drive.

Need to reboot my laptop Toshiba L300

Since it fell, your going to need to take it apart and unseat and reseat the LCD cable where it connects to the back of the LCD as well as where it connects to the motherboard.

Also unseat and reseat the memory one stick at a time in each slot one at a time and try to turn on the laptop after each reseat.

If those things don't work then that means the motherboard is bad.

My dell inspirion B120 says that the modular bay not be identified I ran the diagnostics by pressing the f12 key and then it said that the dst short test failed because no drive was detected error code...

0141 is drive not detected, so reseat the optical drive.
If reseating doesn't resolve, reset the BIOS defaults. the next is try another optical drive and if still not detected then a new motherboard

MS3100 3-Disc CD Changer not recognizing CD's.

the laser on the optical pickup is not able to read the disk. either the disk is scratched (or dirty), the lens is dirty, or the optical pickup is bad and needs to be replaced. to clean, get a lens cleaner at any electronics store and follow their instructions. if it's really bad, unplug the unit, remove the cover, locate the lens, and use an alcohol pad or rubbing alcohol and a q-tip. don't soak it, but wipe the lens off gently and blow on it to dry it off (the alcohol will evaporate). this is not a recommended solution if you are the least bit unsure of what you are doing. if you need to replace it, try www.mcmelectronics.com

Cd-rom won't run

you will have to open the pc and check the cables running to the drive. If you are confident enough to do that, I would suggest to remove the cable and push it back again firmly.

Primary Hard Disk Drive Not Found, Fixed Optical drive Not found

Reseat both the Hard Drive and Optical drive and see if they detect. If they do not, then a HDD failure is most likely. The I8000 is quirky in that if the HDD fails, the Optical drive will not work.

If reseating doesn't resolve, Replace the HDD and the optical drive should work. (Controller is a serial design and neither drive will function if the other fails)

Operating system not found

I probably meant to say "reseat" the memory. Just remove the memory module(s) and reinsert them in their slots. This problem can also sometimes be resolved by reseating the hard drive. I had this happen to me just the other night. The laptop slid off of my lap and fell to the floor. Just fell about a foot and a half, and didn't hit all that hard. Kinda partially caught it as it went. But the laptop didn't like it and I had a message of "Operating system not found". Reseating the hard drive had me up and running in about 30 seconds.
