I would start by going into my computer, right click on your burner, select properties then the recording tab and uncheck the box "enable CD recording on this device". Windows burning software causes havoc with other recording programs.

Blank Disk Show Problems

This is normal. A blank DVD has no filesystem on it, so the OS can't give you any other answer.

Once you burn a filesystem on the DVD, you should see the appropriate space value in Properties.

To solve this problem you need a third party burning software. Windows XP does not include the ability to properly recognize DVD's when you drag and drop and sees it as CDRW. When you bought your DVD, there may have been a disk with a version of Nero on it. It works well but there are also other third party software apps that will do as well. Even some free ones. Hope this helps.

My Samsung CDRW/DVD SM352F plays commercial DVDs but will not recognise an inserted DVD/RW for recording picture files and shows properties as O bytes used space and O bytes free space. What is wrong?

the drive you are using is called a combo drive
CDRW- means CD WRITER
DVD- means DVD READER

DVD WRITER is not included in this combo...

only cd could be read and also written
but is case of DVD , it could only be read..

thankyou,.
