Hi, How long have you been using the clippers? In my experience they can get clogged with hair quite quickly depending on the animal. I'd recommend removing the blade to better get at the hair stuck between the blades. Once the blade is off lubricate the appropriate parts following the guide in your operating manual. It's best to do this soon before the motor burns out. If you feel that the blades are too clogged, it's easy to buy a replacement blade for around 1/3 the price of a new clipper set.

Replaced the switch on my Andis AG2 clippers and now they are frozen

Pull it to pieces again slowly, checking each step until you find the motor comes free. Whatever you last did will be where the fault is.

What's the role of the "power screw" ????

To adjust clipper/trimmers to run to their voltage needs. If clipper/trimmer rattles or over vibrates it may need adjustment to the line voltage in your area. Before adjusting, make sure the clipper/trimmer is clean and blade is oiled. Then turn the SMALL power screw clockwise on the side of the clipper until the noise disappears.

I have oster 6550 series a clippers, i installed new blades but they hardly clip any hair, when I loosen the tension the blades "move quicker" but vibrate with a loud noise

the tension should be pre set from the factory, if its more than one blade your having problems with then its likely there is a problem with the clippers.

Proffesional Oster clippers model 274-69 seems to be frozen...

First, these are very sensitive to no lubrication. They should be lubricated every use to every few uses. Put a drop or two of light machine oil (sewing machine oil is about right) directly on the cutting blades. That may fix your problem. Also, watch the blades once you getit running and make sure the teeth totally pass each other or it will pull hair -- no fun! The travel of the moving blade is generally adjustable via a large plastic screw on the side of the clipper.

Blade doesn't seem to seat properly - more of a gap - and is noisier. Trimmer "ploughs" thru a small amount of fur and then catches.

Oster clippers have two screws retaining the hinge assembly make sure that these are tight the can come loose, also check that the hinge assembly has not lifted away from the body of the clipper, there are two brass inserts which the hinge assembly screws into, they part of the molding occasionally they can pull out causing bad vibrations and poor clipping.
If this is the case you will require a new main body which is a little more technical to replace.

Loud buzzing on Wahl "Designer" model clippers

There is a "power screw" located on the side of the clipper opposite the switch. This may need adjusting. Take a screw driver or coin....and with the unit running......turn the screw back and forth until the clipper stops making noise. The proper position for the most power is to turn the screw intil it makes a loud noise, then turn it back just enough to get rid of it.
