Well i figured this out after several hoursof bashing my head into the wall. Take off the back cover for the lamp replace lamp of course. I forgot to reset timer and turned it off only to not beable turn it back on with it saying back light. WEll to fix this have the back cover off for the lamp. the back right theres this cross looking holes in or almost like a plus look as well. Take a philips screw driver get it to fit in the cross so the screw driver goes all the way in. Dont push hard at all litely insert it till you feel a button or click. Turn on the projector with holding the button sown with screw driver. This will force the bulb on once you do this go to the menu as usual go to settings the scroll to the third page and do lamp reset and also reset your filter settings aswell. Still make sure the screw driver is hold ing down the button then turn off the projector let it completely shut down where the red light is no longer blinking. Remove the screw drive put the cover back on make sure all screws are in or it wont turn back on. Once the screws are in the projector will turn on as it use to with normal use. Hope this helps everyone.

Fault to the main power supply regulator section. Either it will be a separate board, or the part of main board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Sanyo PLV-55WHD1 picture too dark

It may be the lamp itself, some will dim just before failing.

Average life is 2000 hours or two years for OEM lamps and much less for generic ones.

PLV-Z5 Projector, The change lamp light was flashing and closing the machine down straight after opening the slide, I changed the globe and it still does the same, I can not set/reset globe replacement...

It will continue to do this until you reset the counter. I'm not familiar with Sanyo projectors, so I'm not sure of the steps to do this. Some projectors have a sequence of buttons you push to reset it, others stay on long enought for you to go through the menu and reset it. Sometimes the new lamp comes with those instructions. If you don't still have those papers, or the owner's manual, you can go on-line to contact the manufacturer and they can tell you how to do it.

What is the lamp life on a sanyo plv-z2 bulb and how to read the bulb life there are 3 numbers that come up when i check it

If I remember correctly, you hold down either the power or the menu button for 30 seconds... I believe it is the power button, and it will briefly display it on the screen, but this assumes it was reset at the time the lamp was installed. The counter counts up on this model, and the lamp replace light will come on at 3000 hours. I have 2 of these units, and I have gotten at least 5000 hours out of each lamp. Toward the end of the lamp life, it may start getting dim and/or have difficulty starting, but I probably wouldn't replace it until you either notice the dimming or the lamp fails, although I've heard some say they can damage the projector when they fail, I have not had any problems.
