Question about Roper Dryers

1 Answer

My Roper dryer ran a cycle with no heat then when I turned it off and tried to turn it back on...it will not come on at all. What might be the problem, I have checked the electric source and it is fine.

Hello, It is possibly the thermal fuse. Be sure to clean out the vent hose and the vent pipe to the outside to prevent over heating. If the vent system is ok then replace the thermostat as well as the thermal fuse. You can goto - http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/index.action - to buy parts and get a parts breakdown of most brands. Just enter your model number and select model search.
Good Luck

Roper dryer red4440vq1 not drying after changing internal fuse, internal bias, high limit thermostat and thermal cut off and cleaning vent, element heats up to temp and cycles

If heater is heating and not drying clothes, you have a blockage in ventilation system somewhere either internally in dryer or going out from dryer to outside. Take vent off back of dryer and turn on. Is air flow strong and hot?

I have a roper dryer. I took it apart today

Remove all duct work connected to this dryer. Clean thoroughly. You will find amass of lint inside of it causing your problem. If not the moister sensor is not working properly and needs to be replaced.
I do hope you will find a clogged vent tube for it is easier to clean the tube than to replace the sensor. The sensor is a fail safe part. It keeps the dryer from catching on fire when the lint tube is clogged up

Heat is not always coming on in dryer. Roper dryer from Lowes

There are numerous temperature sensors on the dryer. Some are near the drum, some could be near the lint filter if it is located inside the dryer door. Try changing these first as they are an in expensive fix. It could also be the heating coils themselves. Highly unlikely it would be the dial, unless the dial was accidentally turned in the wrong direction.

replace your t-fuse again but also chekc to see if the vent going outside is restricted. if hte vent is smashed or clogged the heat has nowhere to go. i would say that is your issue. clean your vent before you change he t-fuse.

Roper dryer model res7648kq0. wont turn on or heat ?

On the back side of the dryer sits the heater and various safety clixons. Any of them that would be OPEN ( no continuity) would be the problem. Here are some repair pictures

Roper Electric Dryer Heats but drum won't spin

Yank the filter out the top. Remove the 2 screws in the filter housing. Use a putty knife to pop the top and then remove the screws holding the front on. NOTE: raise up on the front panel slightly so you won't damage the bottom clips. Get the front out yer way and remove the drum. Clean out the dryer and oil the rollers and idler. Use this handy ROUTING GUIDE to see how to put the belt back.
