SOURCE: E1 error on LG - LD-4120M

E1 is a common error in the LG Dishwasher range and is usually caused by the failure of the circulation pump and/or the impeller.

The motor and impeller are a complete unit.

Often what happens is the impeller breaks on the motor shaft and doesn't spin, therefore doesn't pump water.

There is a pressure sensor which indicates the lack of pressure and shuts the machine down with the E1 error being displayed.

The lack of pressure can also be from a water leak (as the owners manual suggests) also a controller PCB fault may produce an E1 error, however, the pump problem is extremely common.

Unfortunately, I have had 5 pumps die in 4 years and my dishwasher is only used about 4 times a week.

SOURCE: E1 Error on LG Dishwasher (LD-2040WH)

Maybe the blockage is somewhere else. How about removing all the trays from the dishwasher, in other words, empty it from all racks and dishes and try it again

Sounds like the main pipe is clogged - or the food filter. Check that the filter is completely clear.

SOURCE: What is an E1 error code for an LG Dishwasher? Model LD12AW2

Please check at both ends of the drain hose and confirm that you do nit have a leak. Also, please confirm that water is not leaking directly under the dishwasher.
If you are certain that you do not have a real leak, check the impeller (under the mesh filter in the sump area beneath the lower dish rack) is not damaged and is firmly in place.
The E1 error code is a Leakage Error, detected by the motor spinning faster than it should if the unit is filled with water.
Please report back with what you find. Good Luck!

SOURCE: LG Dishwasher making grinding noise then blinking E1 code 10 minutes later

Well done by resolving this problem. The other way to avoid the siphoning problem through the drain hose is adding an air gap valve/connector (available at any hardware store). You can use it even if you don't have a garbage disposal in your kitchen sink. That will assure that you have the proper height of the drain hose.
Hope this helps!

Can you please tell us the exact model of your dishwasher? What you can try initially is unplug the power cable of your unit for about 10 minutes, then plug it back in. See if that clears the error. Will give you follow up about the E1 error.

Whirlpool dishwasher F8 E1 error

You have a blockage in the drain line someplace. If you have a garbage disposer, check to see that it is clear where the dishwasher connects to it. Also check and make sure that the drain hose is higher then the inlet to the disposer to prevent water draining back into the drain line from the disposer. If that's clear you have a blockage somewhere in the drainline. Best to unit from cabinet and check it

LG dishwasher error code E1

E1 is a code that the dishwasher displays after detecting a leak. There is a sensor on the pan at the very bottom of the unit. Take the bottom front panel off, look under the unit at the hose coming off the pump and your fill line to be sure no water is dripping. Run the unit in a wash cycle while doing this if possible.

Stops pumping in middle of program

Hi there,

I know it is a bit late, but maybe it would help the others.
This E3 error means, that the water temperature did not reach desired level (for example 60C if you are using 60C program) in a given time.
The dishwasher starts the heater and waits for example 10 minutes for the water to reach the temp.
The heater is located on the left side of the dishwasher - it heats
water flowing from the bottom bowl to the sprinkler on the top.
There can be few reasons:
- the heating device is dead - easy to check - if the water is hot when E3 appears, then this is not the case
- the water duct from the bottom bowl to the top sprinkler is messy, and needs cleaning (there are some rubber pipes of quite small diameter)
- the temperature sensor (thermistor) is dead / not responding fast enough. It is mounted to the bottom bowl and can be reached from the front cover, under the doors.

Hope it would help to somebody.
I have already had this and few other problems. All of them have about 5-6 reasons to appear, and I think I know all of them for now :-)
For me, knowing what to expect and how to fix each E-something, this dishwasher is perfect and will last forever :-)

Regards,
Piotr
