Hi Nathan:

Two things could be going on here. Let's do some diagnostics.

Take out your laptop's battery and plug in the power supply. If your laptop powers on, you have a bad battery and will need to replace it. If you still get no power to the laptop, check to see if every thing from the laptop to the wall socket is securely plugged in, then try again. If you still get no power, it is likely that your power supply went bad and you'll need to replace that.

There are a few places to get either of these items. Google "HP G62-339WM Laptop power supply replacement" or "HP G62-339WM Laptop battery replacement."

Good luck.

I'd call HP and request a new power adapter. I've had a few of them go bad before and it's just a short in the cord. Your plug might be loose also...but a good place to start is by calling HP and getting a new cord.

Have you checked the following:
  1. Power cord for breaks
  2. The power outlet you are connecting into (try at least 2 other outlets before settling, but use different outlets for the sake of argument.
  3. When was the last time you charged and it actually did?

My power cord not charging battery

you may have damaged the power input port.
broken solder joint. or your power supply took a dive. if you have a DMM 'meter' check the power supply to see if you are getting power from it.
if it is the power input port, you will have to either open up the laptop and see if it is a fixable soldering job or take it to a pro.
Happy Fixing =)
