Yes, if you can get inside the remote control. For some reason the power management circuit is overheating and this is overheating the display. If it happens too many times, it could ruin the display. Fortunately, you know exactly where the hot part is; the only question is whether the part itself is the problem or something else is causing it to run hot.

If the hot part is the battery, you definitely want to get it repaired. The charger may be running at a dangerously high rate, or the battery is defective (assuming the temperature exceeds safe limits; some heating is normal). Check your warranty. Report this problem immediately to the manufacturer for possible recall action, even if the warranty has expired, and include the Product ID number as well as the model number (more information is provided on the manufacturer's page). Overheating batteries can explode, so they are considered a safety hazard.

Where is the defroster

Defrost on most units works like this. An electric wire heater is embedded in the cooling coil where the air is cooled. A timer periodically shuts off the refrigerator and turns on this electric heater coil which melts the frost off the coil. The water from this defrost collect s in a trough below the coil and drains down thru tubes into a shallow plastic tray under the unit. The water does not collect there but is evaporated over time by the hot air that blows over top of the water by the fan that comes back on when the refrigerator returns to cooling cycle. This is the fan that sucks air from the room over the condenser coil under the fridge to make the refrigeration work. The air is warm after passing over the condenser coil and then the air passes over the water tray. You can feel the warm air returning back into the room if you out your hand down near the floor.

Running very hot and shutting down

You are running into a CPU overheat issue.
1. can you feel or hear the cooling fan come on at all? If so try and use compressed air can to clean it out.. they get tremendously dirty. You can also try a vacuum hose, but cover nozzle with hand and only hold next to cooling fan outlet and nowehre else with laptop off and unplugged. Dont get near keys or other parts as will damage. Dont use SHOP VAC either.

2. If Cooling fan is NOT Coming on you can try a laptop cooling pad. these are external units by Targus and other companies that have cooling fans to supplement a laptop units cooling fan. You can try this to see if airflow is your problem.

3. If you recently ran encryption software, a new antivirus program, or upgraded to Windows 7 it is possible that your culprit is the unit is not cycling. Meaning the hard drive is continuously being accessed and the CPU is in constant service... this can cause overheating as well.

Cannot shut off & no display

The eMachines M5105 is notorious for failing to boot if left unplugged and powered off long enough for the battery to become mostly discharged. Plugging it in to AC power will cause the battery to start charging; and the hard disk drive to spin while the CPU cooling fan cycles on and off vigorously. THE UNIT WILL NOT BOOT UNTIL THE BATTERY IS NEAR FULLY CHARGED; then THE AC DISCONNECTED; and then THE (charged) BATTERY REMOVED AND RE-INSTALLED! Most units will boot after following the foregoing procedure.

it sounds like thermostat which tell unit to turnoff
and set the temp. you can test them with hair dyer buy putting it on heat see what dose then cool. The display should show the temp. if so then it should shut off or turn on is. If not could be a bad thermostat. Or is the thermostat in a hot spot in the house is should be near the return. Hope this helps. Yes I do for living Paul

Hdtv with yellow half circle on bottom of screen

Odds are real good that the cooling fluid in the blue picture tube assembly has become contaminated. Only solution is to pull blue crt and dump out old fluid and clean and reinstall new fluid. Once done a fair amount of re-alignment is required. This is not a job for a do-it-yourselfer. Most tv shops would charge in the area of $250 to $300 for this repair.

Refridgerator top freezer exterior wall hot

Hi.........
Folow these steps. It's worth a try.
1.Pull the fridge out from the wall and unplug it.
2. Clean the dust and lint off the compresser and everything else.
3. Also clean under the fridge.
4. The frame around the freezer door should cool down.

If the cooling fan was stuck , that may also be a cause for your refrigerator wall becoming hot.Check that too.
Hope My info is useful....Bye
