Question about Epson Perfection 4490 Office Flatbed Scanner
I am scanning 35 mm slides in the professional mode using the 35mm slide holder.
The slides are square but the scanned image is rectangle. This causes a dark strip on the sides to compensate for a "square original in a rectangle space"
Online Epson support said I'd have to scan each slide and crop the edges. Kind of defeats the use of the slide holder.
Do I have setting wrong
I've not ever seen "square" 35mm slides. By definition they are a rectangular positive film in an outer square "mount".
If you have a truly square piece of film then it is not a 35mm slide. You may have to use settings other than those for a 35mm film but these would be I don't know.
When were they taken (approximately)? What brand of film? Are they in a cardboard "mount?
