Thanks, I will take a look at it and get back to you in few minutes.

Hi again, this is completely normal that you don't have sound, the camera does not have a microphone to record any sound, there is not supposed to be any sound, and your camera is as it is supposed to be.

Camera takes only pictures and video, but does not record audio at all.

I've seen this in quite a few digital cameras, it simply does not have a microphone and does not record sound, if you need a video camera that records audio with video make sure that is mentioned in the product.

you can confirm this by contacting vivitar directly.
    http://www.vivitar.com/support

there is no audio and not supposed to be for this camera.

if you have any other questions or if you need anything else let me know.
    Thanks,
    Ekse

What channel should i go to play!?

Check the selection of connections on the recorder remote regarding AV, Vid cam, etc etc, there are about 6 to 8 possibilities. While TV is on and correctly connected to recorder, change through the possibilities and as you find the right selection on the recorder remote your picture and sound will appear.

Can't record from my digital cable tv to my sylvania dvd/vcr ..........

Depending on the unit your going to need to check the back of the DVR for video out ports... My DVR has VID/HDMI/VCR/1394/SaTa and IR ports I use the VCR out to record with... because on my DVR I can say "Play this movie... now record to VCR and it will only play the movie on those VCR ports not on my TV so all I gotta do is hit record on my VCR... As long as you have audio/video jacks on the VCR. Then even some have it blocked so you can't do that... depends on model. So try recording on the VCR using the video ports instead of the COAX cable.

1. Turn the Mode dial to playback mode.
2. Press the MENU button. Playback Menu 1 is displayed.
3. Select Sound Memo by using the u d buttons, then press the r button.
4. Press the OK button and then start recording.
