You may have several issues, lets try to narrow down whats wrong. When you see the lines hit the print screen button. Then go into Paint and select paste, this should make an image of whatever was on the screen when you hit print screen. Are the lines still there in the same spot? If so check the cables between your monitor and the PC. If not it is your monitor, check around for magnetic devices near the monitor if you can not find any the monitor may be bad.

Colored vertical lines on my monitor

Depending on the age of the monitor, it most likely will be Capacitors that are leaking. I have repaired many different brands of monitors and have seen problems very similar to yours. 99% of the repairs I do are capacitor Issues. It's well worth replacing them IF the screen is still in very good shape as far as brightness and contrast. most repair kits usually cost between 12 and 20 dollars.
Hope this helps!

LCD display problem

Are you sure the cable is properly seated? You will typically get a tint of red green or blue when a particular pin on the cable isn't making contact. The lines on the other hand would indicate a bad display. Best advice would be to check the cable and if its all the way in hen replace the monitor. They are not worth repairing and also dangerous to work on.

Sorry to say that it is a permanent damage of your monitor screen. Usually you can do nothing. But if you want to change the monitor screen, you have to visit a monitor & television specialist.
Cost will be 1/4 of a new monitor.

VERTICAL COLORED LINES ON MONITOR

Your panels are dying.
Well more to the point the driver tabs that run the panel are dying and are not going to be cheap to repair for either case.

For the stand alone LCD, it is cheaper to get another one.
For the laptop, find a laptop on Ebay or similar with a dead motherboard and swap out the screens, also gives you spare parts for the laptop. If you goto a repair shop and get a screen it will cost you as much as a new laptop.
