If you have more than one USB ports in your computer you can connect both hardrives at the same time and open each individually at the same time in different windows and then drag and drop the files you want to transfer.
or alternatively one at a time and copy the file onto you computer then plug the other one in and move it into that one

Don't know to transfer my PC hard drive to my Seagate external hard drive (1T)

You can copy paste the contents or cut and paste or right mouse click on contents and click "send to....external drive" Once the contents is on the external drive this can be taken to another PC and copied back. Caution: Some contents can be very LARGE and take a LONG time to be copied! It is advisable to run a BACKUP every now and then. And be sure your external drive is working correctly (Scandisk).

How do I download from disc to Acer Aspire one

Hello,

If you need to load software(such as device drivers) from Optical Media) in a system without an ODD Drive, follow these steps:

1. Log in to another PC in your vicinity that has an Optical Disk Drive.
2. Insert the CD/DVD into the PC and copy its' contents over to that PC.
3. Copy over that content to a USB Storage Device (USB Drive, External HDD, etc).
4. Unplug the External HDD/USB Drive with the content from the PC and plug it in your Laptop/Netbook.
5. Copy over the relevant content over to the netbooks' hard drive.

Alternatively, download the needed drivers from Acer's support website.

How do I change a hard drive to read a mac if it is already programed to read a pc

By default Mac computers can not access NTFS partitions which is probably what your external drive is formatted with. You can try downloading the program below to see if it will allow you to read the contents of the drive

I want to hook up an external hard drive to increase the record time available for my Motorola DCH3416 cable box. I already have drives with eSata, USB, and firwire ports.

From the Motorola FAQs:

How do I transfer my programs from my Motorola DVR to an external device like a computer or hard drive? trnsp.gif Question How do I transfer my programs from my Motorola DVR to an external device like my computer or hard drive?
trnsp.gif Answer No. Currently you can't offload recorded content to any external device from a Motorola DVR, even though the data ports are there, the software doesn't support it yet. When the option becomes available through a software upgrade, it will be downloaded to DVR automatically by service providers/cable companies.
