turn on your computer, press F2 button. if it can log into the bios setup it means you just have a software issue. Reinstalling the window will do the magic. if your netbook didn't display anything from the time you turn on the netbook, it means something wrong with your hardware.

Then, the WARRANTY for it is still valid, and any problems will be fixed by ASUS, at minimal cost to you.

However, are you sure that you are not pressing the 'NUM LOCK' button.
When 'NUM LOCK' is active, then pressing the keys gives the numbers.
When 'NUM LOCK' is NOT active, then pressing the keys initiates the actions (left-cursor, PageUp, et cetera).

Sounds like you have a virus. Until you get it going again or remove the hard drive and run a good anti virus programme to check and clear the problems, try F9 at boot up.

Ok so I'm supposed to hit the number lock button to fix my problem but i can't tell what this button is because it doesn't say num lock like normal keyboards do hoochiebuzz@yahoo.com

If you press shift, there is an orange label at the top to your laptop. Just find where the Num-Lock is. Press shift and press the button where you can find Num-Lock

My asus 1000hp netbook has a locked keyboard, and can't log in .

Keys 7, 8, 9, 0, U, I, O, P, J, K, L, and M are permanently stuck as if Fn is pressed so it is in the number-pad mode. So I can't type the above keys at all. If I want to type 0 I would have to type M. Obviously I am using a different computer now, just in case anyone is wondering. So does anyone have any solution to this? Please help!
