I just bought one today for 25 quid with no remote and found that the volume control on my cheap multi remote works from default setting, it's the same as my arcam amp. Philips cd remotes might work too I found one in a cash converters for a quid with a volume control.

Adjustable volume on a sound source is actually rare but not unheard of. Most devices output at the maximum volume and rely on external receivers or preamps to deal with the volume control so it's not a common feature and yet we all live without it.

I had one once and the only time I ever used it was to fade out while recording.

The RC-63CD remote is available here for $58

Hi Strange problem with Marantz pm7001 When ever I turn the volume upto around 1/3 and 1/2 of the way, the amp cuts out and reset it self down to minimum volume. It seems like the amp ins't enough power...

What's probably happening is that the amplifier is shutting down or cutting back the volume as protection from damage. You may have a partial short in the speaker wiring that is not a problem at lower levels, but at higher ones causes the amp to see too low a load. There may a problem with a speaker or crossover component that is breaking down at higher volumes. Or something in the amp's output stage is unable to handle the load.

Test the system with a known good speaker system and length of wire and see if the trouble continues. If it does, you'll know it's the amplifier that needs to be checked. If the test speakers can reach normal volume, you can start checking the wiring and other speakers for the source of the trouble.

I am looking for a manual fo a marantz cd63 cd player and a replacement remote for the said item I can be emailed at aitkenmartin23@yahoo.co.uk thanks

Model RC63CD is available for $58

http://remotes.com/remotes/servlet/rs?a=gmi&smodel=CD63SE&brand_pn=MARANTZ_CD63SE&mode=large&uuid=A12997911098241

or you could lurk around eBay and search for "CD63 remote" or "RC63CD remote" and maybe one will become available cheaper.

Can't help on the manual but from the pix I've seen its a vanilla CD player with all possible outputs - analog, coaxial digital and optical digital. Nothing unique or complex about it that would need explanation.

Try any CD manual and it would probably make you fluent in Marantz CD83-ese.

Hi, My Marantz SR4200 goes into protect mode about 45min after cranking the volume up to party mode, ie above '0'. It is getting worse slowly. Ok at lower volumes. Something seems to be overheating,...

Or it could be you're overdriving it, hence the heat. Take a clue and turn it down. At 70 wpc played loudly it could be going into speaker- and self-damaging distortion.

Make sure it has a lot of ventilation.

Marantz sr18ex clicks on and off while watching dvds.

I'm not familiar with Marantz receivers but sounds like it could be intentionally cutting out either because it's overheating or it's afraid it might blow your speakers. Two basic things to try:

1) Leave it off for a few hours
2) Turn the volume way down so you can just hear it - not sure if the cutout is intelligent enough to take this into account but worth trying...

Also, any chance you have it in a closet or cabinet without adequate ventilation? Does the area where it's sitting seem especially warm? If you don't have enough air movement then overheating is far more likely.

Good luck!

Marantz CD63-SE fails to load/read/recognize disk - disk spins but "insert disk" is the only result

I think the laser needs re-aligning or the laser unit itself is faulty. If you can find a competant technician. Hope this helps.
