Question about Office Equipment & Supplies

1 Answer

I was printing several copies of a document and then stopped the printing, the paper was half out of the printer and didn't finish coming out completely. When I needed to print another document it jammed and I tried to gently pull out the partially printed paper. I then got the Error message that said: Paper or CD/DVD jam or feed error. Press the Start button. If the error does not clear, reinsert the paper or CD/DVD and press the Start Button. I followed the instructions several times and nothing happened. I turned the printer off and then on again and tried the Start button. I then unplugged the printer and disconnected the printer from the computer, to no available. Any other options?

There does not seem to be any paper caught in the printer. also there is no way to remove anything from the back of the printer.
I got one sheet of paper in front of the plastic pieces and behind the roller that holds the paper in place. With the paper slightly depressing those plastic holders, I pressed the Start button and it moved the paper forward through the printer about 1/3, pressing the Start button two more times allowed the paper to move through the printer (I was not trying to print anything ) so the mechanism itself seems to be working.

If I can clear the error message the printer will probably work. Any other ideas?

There may be a piece of paper stuck inside still. There should be a access panel on the back of the printer. Sometimes there's a feed error on the paper tray end.

If you haven't already, open the paper try and check for a feed error there. The error message usually is alerted by one of the rollers meeting more that expected resistance. Another thing to try if you are up for it is to gently check the various rollers with the printer unplugged. Mostly this can be done visually looking for a bit of paper or dust in the drive gears.

SOURCE: I keep getting the paper

Sure sounds like your paper sensor is either broken or somehow jammed or stuck, and keeps triggering when the paper pushes against it. Try to inspect the sensor for any abnormality, or stuck parts. You may have to get it serviced, and in that case, get an estimate first.
Good luck, hope this helps.

I was copying a fairly large document and at some point the document continued to scan but stopped printing. The memory light is on and the LCD print out reads "printing" but it is not printing.

hello there, Sorry but the question is a bit confusing. Did the document finish copying or it copied half way and stopped? Or you were copying and printing it at the same time?
If you were copying and printing at the same time then the problem is expected as the procedure for printing is considerably faster than the copy process. Simply turn of the entire system either by proper shutdown or by just cutting the source of power to the unit. And this time copy the document completely first before you try printing. This should come up without any hassles.
Hope this support has been helpful?

Try to reset the printer. Unplug the power adapter from the printer. printmastert_38.jpg

Wait at least 10 seconds before replugging the power adapter into the printer. When the printer completely boots up, try to make a copy a again. If problem continues where it is partially printing copies or having print quality issues, you may need to update the printer's firmware. Firmware update for the S405 is available at http://bit.ly/s405fw.

Can i make copies witht he brother hp 2040 printer

A printer would produce print outs of documents in versions known as hardcopies(paper). However, multifucntion devices usually would have an area on the printer that allows to feed in an aready printered document to be reproduced several times into several hardcopies(paper copies). Unless that, the printer has multifunction capabilities, in which instance would be in writing specified as capable of performing printing, copying and several feature functions, it would be unlikely to perform copies from an already existing document.

Hi,

most likly hood is your exit sensor is faulty. The printer work in this way. if it does not print out all the document. it will print again. that is why you kept getting this same issue after a jam open and close door it will print again.

replace the exit sensor it will help.

CX5000 All in One. It only prints half of the page and keeps printing only half a page until article is finished. This is with emails and some others but seems to print OK from Word documents.

Hi,

Check the paper settings in the printer and the program which you are printing with. Try to reset the paper settings.

Goodluck,

hi!

Try to cancel your document in the printers menu even if you restart the pc or the printers memory stores the previous command.

1.The idea is that printers has its own memory unless you cancel the document that you print.

e-mail me at wendel_tenebroso@yahoo.com if the problem persist
