Do you use the right ports.
So the 5th is for a extra switch/rouer.

Only power light goes on when I reconnect to electricity. WLAN and LAN lights stay off

It sonds like you are ethernet connected to the Edimax from your home computer. Can you access a wireless connection? If so Try This:
Unplug the ethernet connection between the PC and the router. Exchange the connection (The ethernet connected to the PC place it in the Edimax and Put the connection from the Edimax into the PC) Check to see if you have a connection light on both devices.
Reboot you Edimax and PC. First turn on the PC and let it power up to the desktop. Once the PC is on then power on the Edimax. Now check to see if you have a connection. If these steps don't work I suggest you try replacing the ethernet plug connected between both devices.

Good luck!

On my edimax es3116p when 1 pc is connected the other remaining pc cannot connect how to fix

Well the problem is probably due to the fact that you are trying to share a 1mb/s connect. Thats not a lot of bandwidth even for 1 computer. So when you have multiple PCs all fighting for that 1mb/s you will certainly have slow or what appears to be n connection. Now if your second PC is not getting an IP address well then you probably have an issue with DHCP.

Can I connect Ethernet to the internet without router

This is possible a few different ways:

-Connect the switch directly to the modem and each computer, then pay your ISP for extra IP addresses for each computer, if they will allow it. Make sure that you secure each computer with proper firewall/security software as it will be directly exposed to the internet. This method typically will not work with ADSL or any ISP that uses a PPPoE connection.
-Install two ethernet cards in one of the computers. Connect the switch to one ethernet card and the modem to the other, then enable internet connection sharing.
-Acquire an older computer with two ethernet cards in it and install free linux based router software such as Smoothwall to create your own homebrew router that has all of the features of the pricy linksys/netgear/etc. routers and then some.

Edimax br6204wg wan led doesn't light up and there is no internet connection

Hi yaminmagdi,

I believe that you are trying to get connected wireless using your Edimax Router, we may need to check some settings in your Edimax regarding the wan light not lit up and could be a possible reason why there is no internet connection.

1. First we will need to find an Ethernet cable for us to be able to connect your Laptop directly to your Edimax Router for us to be able to check and change any settings needed to enable your Edimax wireless connection. also make sure that the Ethernet cable is connected to the Ethernet ports behind the Router not the WAN port then the other end goes directly to your Router.

2. Once connected directly to your router from the Laptop open IE or any Browsers on your Laptop, in the Address bar type in 192.168.2.1 then press Enter this will prompt for a user name and password, User Name will be ' admin ' and the password should be 1234 unless you changed it.

3. Inside the Edimax setting page click on the Tab that says Wireless, check and see if the wireless is enabled if not then enable it or turn it on, after enabling / turning the Route ON save the settings by clicking on Apply or Save then it will prompt that the Router is restarting it will be 30 seconds to apply once the 30 seconds is up that should be done check your Edimax if the WAN light is already lit up, then you can try an connect Wireless from your Laptop.

I hope this helps.

Have a nice day.

Loss of link packets

Auto-negotiation, or duplex mismatch problems are common between 10/100 and 1Gb devices. Make sure the driver on your computer's ethernet adapter is up-to-date. If that doesn't help, you may need to try an inexpensive D-link or Linksys 10/100 switch.
