When i play black ops it keeps saying connection interuped and just lags

There are a few reasons that this is happening. I play Black Ops almost daily and have encountered this endless times.

1. On the multiplayer menu right before you search for a match, look at the bottom right of the screen. It says something about a "NAT". If your NAT is CLOSED or MODERATE than this maybe the issue. You can open the NAT depending on your internet service provider:

That video may help (its the one I used) if you have Verizon, but if not, you can always search for your specific internet provider.

2. If you are using Xbox Live with a ethernet cable you should have a relatively better connection that if you are using WiFi to connect. If possible, try switching to ethernet.

3. When searching for games (on the same menu as above) hit the "back" or "select" button on your controller (the one on the left of the big circle xbox guide button) and set your search settings to "Locale" or "Locale Only". What this does is only search for connections near you which allows you to have better connections to the game.

4. Your internet itself might not be that fast. If this is the case, theres not much you can do besides pay for faster internet. This isn't always an option so I suggest avoiding it. You can however test your internet speed at:

Speedtest.net

This allows you to actually see how fast the internet you're using is.

5. Switch back to an older Call of Duty. I'm a big fan of Black Ops but no matter what you do to fix your connections, this game is highly connection based. If you are having THAT much of a problem with it and tried everything, you might as well save yourself the rage and trouble and play a game that works.

1 of 2 reasons. 1. It could be slow at reading the information on the cd. 2. you have a slower internet connection. The question is, what Call of Duty? Black ops 2 installs the maps on the hard drive. That could be the only reason I could think of there. Your internet connection matters. If you are found to have a week internet connection, the lobby has to go according to the weakest signal if you're on a team.(Lag) If you are the strongest signal, then they sometimes make you the host. Witch is why, sometimes the game says "connecting to new host" if the current host leaves for any reason.

Constant connection interruption Black ops


Your internet modem is probably shorting out. Try unplugging it and plugging it back in again. If problem persists talk to your internet provider and get a new modem.

I have been having an issue where my mouse becomes very slow and jumpy when playing black ops. At all other times it is fine. Any ideas what could be causing this.


Do you experience lag while playing the game? If the game lags, mouse movement will probably lag as well. Do you have another mouse/trackpad/input device you can try? If your other input devices work, it could be a problem with your mouse.

Check to see that you have the latest drivers for your mouse. It could be that obsolete drivers are causing the problem.

you need an xbox live account, a connected modem to your xbox, and to sign in in order to play online games.

Just in case you aren't, makes sure you are first: using HDMI cables, second make sure your TV is on "game mode". Game mode reduces latency to TV when playing graphic intensive games on your TV, you may want to check to see if this is a viable option on your TV.

If you can play black ops, then I wouldn't worry about it. If you need to download something to play the game then the system should have you do it through the system update.

Cant hardly ever join in a game of free for all and when i do get in(very rare) I lag like crazy and keep getting server disconnected or connection interupted. Sometimes does this even with full signal.


This happens to all of us. You just have to try different rooms. Be sure that your signal strength for your internet is strong. It's make's a huge difference. Good luck.

Well the servers on black ops arent that good so if now the problem is still happening it has to be your internet so order a new router and it should work.
