Hi! Welcome to Fixya!

If you are unable to view video on your television set, the issue may be that the TV's video input selection does not match.

The TV input source must match how the equipment for example DVD is connected to the TV.

* Plug the RCA cables(red, yellow, white cord) to the designated ports.
* Grab your Apex TV remote and attempt to cycle through the video inputs by hitting the "Input" button at the top of the remote multiple times.
* If you have used a DVD player or similar external device recently, you may have neglected to switch the video input back to the one assigned to your TV programming.
* Devices such as DVD players often reside on the AV 1 or AV 2 video input, and failure to switch back off of one of these will result in a dark, soundless screen when attempting to view cable or satellite television.
* Cycle through the inputs until you land on your cable/satellite input once more, which should result in an immediate restoration of picture and sound.
* If it does not, approach your Apex TV and look over the A/V cable connections. The A/V cable has two sets of prongs, one on either of its ends. Each prong is either red, yellow and white, and plugs into corresponding A/V ports on the back of the Apex TV and the back of your cable or satellite box. Make sure the ports and prongs are color-corresponding and have not been switched up.

Thank you for using FixYa. Keep me posted. :

My ps3 turns on but no picture

First, how are you connecting? RCA jacks(red yellow white cords) or HDMI? If it's the RCA cords, they were known to develope shorts in the yellow cord that connects to your TV. Just try another cord. They are very cheap, and the cords from all of the other Playstations will work for the PS3. Second, try to do a picture reset on your system. Sometimes, going from HDMI, back to the RCA confuses the system because the RCA connections are NOT detected automatically, HDMI is. To do a picture reset, turn the system on, then push the power button once,(you'll hear a beep) then push and hold the power button until the system shuts off.(you should hear 2 beeps) Then when you turn the system back on, the picture will be reset. ^^ Good luck, and I hope this helps.

Help

Hi, Flat panel television instruction manuals are not very easy reading material, there are many connections on the back-you need to plug in some sort of input-always coming from the " out to T.V." of another device. Cable coax's are most common-the cables aren't very flexible that's one way to tell them apart from an RCA cable-usually with red, white, yellow, green and blue colored ends. The red, white and yellows are what we'll focus on for now-the yellow's are for a picture-connect them from an " out to TV" to " video input" on the back of tv, then for sound likewise- red and white colored from an"audio out " to "audio in " if coming from a VCR-you may use the rather un-flexible " screw on" coax connector-same if coming from a satellite/cable box-some satellites require tuning tv channel to # 60 for a picture-other wise it's channel 3 or 4. although you will get a better picture using yellow, red & white rca cords. I hope this has been of some help, prodzilla

Using the red whit and yellow VCR cables, how do i

You must have a monaural (mono) TV even though it looks like you have speakers on each side. The VCR has stereo audio output red=right white=left yellow=video. Ideally you would buy a mixing tee to add the left and right signal. Or if your VCR supports it you can set it to mono output. Otherwise, just use the white (left) cable to feed the mono input (white) and of course the yellow to yellow for video. Just ignore the red wire or lightly tape over it to avoid any short. Best,

I tried to hook up my dvd player and i get picture but no sound. when i put the cords in the back of the monitor there is yellow red blue green holes no white spot. Do i need different cords. I have tried...

That could be a result to that TV either not having the ports you need, or you may need different cords. On my TV. With the 360 they have two cords. Red,white, and yellow and also green blue and i think red but im not 100% sure. You may need to find a different port on your TV for your cords, or do what I do and have your VCR hooked up to your tv, and your DvD player hooked up thorugh your VCR. Hope this helps and don't forget to rate ^^
(and yes that yellow and white are a necessity)

Tv will turn on but no picture and sound.

If its still both picture and sound there is a few things.First your T.V. could just be mallicous and could be trying to kill you via annoyment. Not likely. The second is the cords in the back are mixed up.Usually they are in the colors of Red White and Yellow. If they are in the wrong analog slots then even though they are plugged in,they wont work.Or it could be age, frayed wires,or any number of things.Hope it helped.

Proscan 26LB30Q Vs PS2 = HELP

The red white and yellow cables are composite connections. The red/green/blue connections are component connections.

The playstation's composite connections consist of two audio connections- red & white, and a composite yellow video connection. The TV's white connection is the audio, and the red/green/blue are component video. You need an adapter that will connect the one yellow(composite video) to the three red/green/blue (component video) connections
