Question about AOC Monitor
Did you plug the sound sable into the audio out port on your computer?
The VGA and DVI monitor cable/plugs do not have sound capability so if there are speakers on your monitor they need to get the sound signal through a separate wire.
HDMI can send sound so if your monitor is hooked up via HDMI it should be able to pass sound as well (at least in most circumstances).

I just picked up one of these monitors second hand. It's an AOC N19W and got it for just a few quid as although the screen is perfect, the "speakers didn't work".
I simply connected it up and yes they were not working. I went into the on screen menu, selected the sound options pressed mute then unmute, then tuerned the volume level right down and when I turned it up again the sound came back up with the slider!
Hope it helps
