It might help to know some models and conditions - say, after a power hit which could have fried them both?

Two devices malfunctioning? I'd look at the power source. Plug the microwave in somewhere else.

"Microwave" was in the title. Sorry. Do you have the manual?

What led up to the 'failure'?

    Here's some user's story for a fridge...
    http://www.howtomendit.com/answers.php?i...

"my ff200e's lights were flashing for about a week before i decided to look on here. i noticed the ice building up in the freezer just before it started to flash, then it was beeping during the night but only for the first night then no more beeps.
all i did was turn both dials to 'off' position and then hold in the two buttons on the dials for about 3 seconds. then i heard the fridge come back on and hey presto! no more flashing :D
thankyou for the information everybody! :)

"My FF200E gets an ice build up every 3-4 weeks and so I have to defrost with my steam cleaner which only take 10 mins (even with very large build up of ice which normally starts to freeze the bottom tray in). When lights flash a hotpoint engineer told me to set both fridge and freeze dials to zero then put them back to temp setting of your choice and beeping stops straight away. Hotpoint really should fix all our freezers I was told that the cooling motor is too small for the size of fridge freezer this is (much larger than most. I keep calling my insurance plan people out - one day they will get fed up and sort this out with hotpoint!"

Panasonic microwave flashing

That is not good, the magnetron is arcing or there is bare metal exposed on the interior, clean interior and inspect carefully, even food partical build up will cause this.

The bulb in fridge flashes on and off work how do I replace it ?

The plastic cover over the bulb should just clip off, Make sure that the bulb is securely screwed into the fitting. If this is not the problem there may be a bad connection on the door switch or the light fitting. Make sure the fridge is unplugged when you check these items.

Everything appears to work but turntable and light on interior.

It's probably your bottom door switch. See this helpful file.

Flash in oven

The flash is usually caused by metal either being placed inside of micro or the interior surface might have chipped enamel exposing the metal underneath. Make sure no metal materials are placed inside while using and that the interior surface is in good condition.

R-8350, No power to touchpad, but interior light works

The touchpad has its own fuse which has probably blown due to a surge perhaps related to the turning on of the fridge. Removing the cover from a microwave is potentially lethal due to the large capacitor to drive the magnetron. However, this is usually well away from the front panel. If you do venture in you should first unplug the unit and when the outer cover is removed, discharge the large capacitor with well insulated pliers -= otherwise keep well away from it. The fuse you are interested in is on the pc board behind the touchpad. Replace it with exactly the same fuse (usually a slow blow fuse).

Microwave door shut, but interior light is on - micro won't work

Yes. One of your door switches is not working. It could be an alignment issue or a faulty switch. There are actually 3 switches in the door latch area.

Does not cook - time counts down extremely fast

The first thing I would suggest is a hard reset. Unplug the unit for a minute or so. Then plug it back in, set the clock and try again.

If that doesn't work, leave it unplugged for about 5 minutes.

Then let us know if the hard reset does not fix it.
and please reply back with your brand and model number so we can help you.

Interior Light

The interior oven light can be accessed in the following way:
1.Open door and remove the top grill via the 2 screws along the top edge.
2. In the interior light will be under metal plate with fasten by single screw. The halogen bulb is rated at 120V 20watt. Looks like a G-8 bulb with 8mm pin spacing with o.a.l. 1-5/8" long

Get these bulbs cheap at http://www.1000bulbs.com/120-130-Volt-G8-Base-Halogen-Light-Bulbs/
