When the power light shuts off the unit is powering down. Most likely this is a short either in the 12V adapter, or in the device itself. If it is the 12V adapter you could replace the adapter (making sure the voltage and amperage of the replacement is the same) but if it is the unit itself not the power adapter then there is little you can do besides buying a new device.

My Asus eee pc 901a: i get no charge lights i get no power light even when the charger is pluged in. ive gone as far as unpluging bios battery and replaceing. any suggestions

Hi. This could be a power adapter problem. Try this troubleshooting first, if nothing happens then i suggest you purchase a new adapter. Take out the battery and unplugged the power adapter to the wall socket. Press and hold the power button for 30 secs. Put everything back in then turn ON the computer.

I had a power surge about a month ago and now my wii will not turn on. My wii is pluged into a surge protector.

I posted this elsewhere on here too, but I'll post it here too so it helps you.

This is a common problem with the Wii. You wouldn't believe how often I read about this. I'm very surpised Nintnedo didn't cover this in the owners manual FAQ, considering it happens almost every time there is a power surge or the power goes out, etc.

Even if it's hooked up to a surge protector, this happens. Power comes back on, but the Wii appears dead. It won't turn on, and the LED indicators won't light. If there was a power surge, or the power went out, etc...anything, this will happen. The problem is with the AC adapter, not the Wii itself.

There is a circuit inside the AC adapter that needs to be reset. Unplug the AC adapter from the wall/surge protector outlet. Don't unlpug it from the Wii, it has to be at the outlet. You have to kill power to the adapter.

Unlpug it from the wall/surge protector outlet, and leave it unplugged for 5 or 10 minutes. This will kill power to the AC adapter, and give the circuit time to reset. When you plug the adapter back into the outlet after 10 minutes, the red led on the front should be lit up.

Compaq JBL Platinum Series speakers

Make sure that you got 12v 1.0 A adapter. Not .01 A. They have one at newegg.com atrix DVCPA1AA power adapter-12v 1.0 A. you should not need drivers for speakers. Make sure you got it pluged into right port if you got the adapter. Also make sure under control panel under sound that you got it setup for two speakers.
