Many times this is due to build up on/in the burner itself or blockage in the gas line.
Most burners can be disassembled if you are mechanically inclined fairly easily. The gas grilles I have taken apart all fit together without using any fasteners, I think this is to provide easy cleaning.
If I was you I would try to remove the burner, usually the burner has a small pipe coming off of it which the gas line connects with, usually just a dry meaning there is nothing mechanically holding the gas pipes together. Removal usually consists of lifting the burner out of a mounting bracket and sliding the gas pipe off the end of the inlet gas pipe. Once removed you can check the gas pipe for obstructions removing any debris which may be accumulated there. Also check the burner sometimes the tiny holes around the burner get gummed up and using a toothpick can be cleared out.
If you want to be more drastic you can drop the whole thing in some oven cleaner, just be absolutely sure you have let all the cleaner dry/evaporate before you try to use the burner again.
...Hope this helps

The flames from the front left burner is 1/3 orange and 2/3 blue; whereas the flames from the other burners are all blue. There is a strong odour from the front left burner when we turn it on and also the...

The flames should be all blue - except when you first turn it on, where the flame begins, & only when you turn it on. Orange flames mean incomplete combustion is happening. Carbon monoxide is being released. Orange flames can also mean your getting low on gas. Clean it & try moving the disk around. An uneven disc means some flames will be higher & burn your pots. The flames are wrapping around your pots if they're burning on the sides. Keep flames under the pot. Regardless of the being clean, the odor means you need to check your gas level. Once filled back, the odor should be gone if that's the only problem. That is placed in the gas as a safety feature. Don't try to fix this problem yourself if the "easy" solutions don't work. It could be very dangerous. Invest in a carbon monoxide detector especially when you have anything gas.

My back burners wont light but my front two will genesis silver edition

If the Cross Over Tube/Burner is clogged, the ignition flame can't get to the last 2 burners to light them. To check this, light the front 2 burners using the ignitor button and try match lighting the back burners. If they match light, that indicates that the Cross Over Tube is clogged. You will need to remove it to clean it properly. Which can be a chore in itself. Be careful removing it, because if it's rusted, it may break.

Hope this helped you, Kevin and thanks for choosing FixYa.

Sounds like a gas regulator problem. But, somewhat unusual, as most people complain of low flames. In any event, you will need to replace the Hose/Regulator Assembly. They run about $30.00 and can be found at any hardware store or home center, that sell gas grills and accessories.

As a safety measure, after turning off the gas tank, check each burner for blowout or rust through..

I hope this helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

Low flame at burner. I've put a new tank on my grill and now the flame stays very low on all burners. I've heard that there can be some pressure problems with a newly filled tank. Is there a quick...

Mike, there can be some pressure problems, but it's not the new tank. However, it does cause the problem and here's how you resolve it.

1. Turn the gas tank valve OFF.
2. Disconnect the hose from the tank and wait 5 minutes.
3. Reconnect the hose to the tank and turn the tank valve ON VERY, VERY SLOWLY (Slow motion, slow).
4. Once the valve is fully open, light the burner farthest from the tank first and turn the burn to HIGH.
Does the burner light and the flame height look correct? If so, light the remaining burners the same
way. Now, do all the burner flames look as the should? If co, you solved the problem. Always
remember to turn the tank valve ON very, very slowly>

If the above did not solve the problem, you will need to replace the grill's Hose/Regulator Assembly. You can pick one up at any home center or hardware store that sells gas grills and accessories. It will run you about $30.00 (+/-) .

Hope this helped you to solve the problem Please let me know & Happy Grilling!!

My Rheem Criterion 75,000 BTU furnace has three in shot burners with a HSI located in the right hand side and the flame sensing rod in the left hand side. The only burner that ignites is the side with the...

This is potentially a very dangerous condition. First of all, think of the design, the flame sensor is there to shut the valve off if there is not good ignition on all burners. From what you said, it keeps the first burner on with no ignition to the other two? Do you smell gas when this occurs? There are two problems here, lack of flame cross-over to the left and your flame sensing safety failing. If the valve shuts off in a timely manner, then I would say clean the cross-over slots and verify manifold pressure is correct. The latter is more likely. If the safety is failing and not shutting off the gas valve, the control circuit board is defective. The wire coming from the flame sensor should return to a specific point on the control module and it reads micro amps to detect flame. Furnaces will either have a remote sensor as you describe or use the HSI, but not both. If your control module has been replaced, verify the sensor is connected correctly. Hope this helps and please rate my answer.

Whirlpool stove top- two problems. 1) burner is not burning hot, low flame 2) igniter on different burner doesnt work, no spark at that burner.

Hi

If the burner is not burning hot, and there is a low flame then this is often a pressure regulator problem. Most often the regulator is found where the gas line enters the gas range. I have a picture of what the flame characteristics should look like. If the igniter on different burner doesn’t work, and there is no spark at that burner then you will have to check the same items as mentioned above. This is a typical spark module wire diagram.

Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

It sounds like your cross-over **** located underneath on the back of the burner is needs cleaning. Take your burner out, turn them over and your will see a slot on the rear of the burner. wire brush the slot until it has a clean ****. This cross-over **** is what brings the flame to the right side.
